I will agree with the others, and even more so if you can get a lock off unit...then it isnt so blatant that you were trying to keep separate as much as trying to respect their privacy...if you cant get a lock off, then I would just say thats what was available. Sharing vacation time with family doesnt mean you have to share every moment.

And may I add you are a nice person to be so open - I hope to be able to share like you when I grow up.

Do not share if you won't be completely comfortable! That's what extra points are for.

So book a 2-bedroom, but specifically request a "lock off unit." Then when you get tired of them, BOLT THE DOOR!! If things are going well, leave the door open. Even with it bolted, they'll have their own entrance into their [studio] portion of the unit. With this plan of attack, even if they cancel out, you can drop the studio and just have the 1-bedroom for your visit. Seems like life doesn't have to be so difficult!!

Good point. Hadn't thought of that. But maybe the front desk could adjust the keys. Not sure.
