I was on my lunch break. This was the first year I worked full-time. I went to the tanning bed, and turned on KOA radio to see if there was a Rockies game on while I was tanning, I was shocked to hear what was happening. As ColoradoBuffaloMom said, it was frightening to know this was happening so close to where I lived. My girls were both in high school at the time. I tried to call the high school when I got back from work but they were on a lock down. No one at work had heard anything about it. I work in a lawfirm and we don't usually listen to the radio there. I met the girls at home after school and they were both very upset. We watched the local coverage the rest of the afternoon, and then went to a meeting at church. It was a scheduled meeting regarding something else but turned into a prayer meeting and support group for area kids. I will also never forget that day.
