Does anyone else think it is DISGUSTING when they are on the highway and see a car with children in it, while the driver smokes....with all of the windows up!!!!?!?!?!

Ugh! Poor kids :-(

That annoys me so much! It also makes me mad when I see parents driving carelessly w/children in the car-on their cell, putting on makeup, etc...
But the WORST is when children are running around in the back of the car or on the back seat...God forbid they get into an accident, or even just take a turn too sharp.

It's disgusting. Those poor kids having to suck that crap into their lungs.

I put them in the same category with parents who:

drink & drive with their kids in the car

talk on a cell phone while driving with their kids in the car

parents who don't make their children stay in their seat belts or car seats

parents who exhibit road rage with their kids in the car

parents who run red lights and stop signs with their kids in the car

parents who speed and pass in no-passing lanes with their kids in the car

parents who allow their children to hang their heads, arms and legs out the car window

etc., etc..
---------------------------

There are no shortage of parents who do any of the above......

Smoking in a car with your kids, with the windows rolled up is-

CHILD ABUSE!!!!!

Sorry if this offends anyone, this is just how I see it.::yes::

Couldn't agree more....I get a whiff of some mom's as I see them in my DS's daycare and it's like they emerge from the car in a smoke cloud....not to mention it's like 7:15 am.

My mom died of cancer and she smoked for many many years. I've never ever tried and never will. Not trying to offend anyone as I know a few people who smoke and try not to judge them, however if they came anywhere near lighting up by my DS, i'd have to freak.

On the plus side, growing up as that kid in the backseat fighting for oxygen, I never had the urge to smoke when I got older -- even when my friends told me how uncool I was for not even trying it. Another plus? My kids will never have to experience it!

Here are a couple that irritate me:

1 When I see a car seat in the FRONT seat of one of the small pick up trucks, windows rolled up and driver smoking.

2. Babies sitting on laps in the front seat of newer cars that you KNOW have air bags - triple whammie - 1) no car seat 2) front seat 3) air bag

3. Here's my favorite, I was in the bank drive thru and the 2 y/o was sitting in the car seat but not strapped in:confused:

When I was growing up my mom, step dad, grandma and grandpa smoked. You couldnt escape from it. We used to go on 3 hour trips to see my aunt (mom, gm,gp and me) and I sure they couldnt even see out of the window of the vehicle it was so filled with smoke. I still hate it as much today and thankfully my dh has never smoked either so our house is nice and smoke free.
My mom and my grandma were shocked when I had my first ds and informed them that there would be NO smoking and HOLDING the baby a the same time

Heck I went one step past that....they couldn't even HOLD the baby if the SMELLED of smoke!! I didn't want my sweet little baby smelling like their stink!
Growing up I remember sitting in the back seat of the car and cracking the window open to just get a few sucks of fresh air while my dad polluted the car with cigerette smoke. I really think people who smoke in the car with kids should be charged with child abuse!

Basically if you smoked you didn't hold her LOL....I have one friend who smoked back then ( has since quit) and she used to shower, come over and hold the baby then go back home and smoke LOL.... I really don't have any friends or family that smoke, I just choose not to hang around with people who smoke.
