Inspired by ShamWOW - Infomercial purchases you have made?

Well, I guess I am a gadget girl. Lets see, so far I have bought;

1. Spin containers and lids. (works and keeps shelves organized):thumbsup2
2. Pedi-paw :thumbsup2
3. Joy hangers (now I have more space in my closets and nothing falls off) :thumbsup2
3. Oreck vacuum (hated it, it was the loudest dang thing I've ever heard).
4. Spaghetti pot with the holes in the lid (a piece of junk IMO)
5. Aqua globes (love it, it works):thumbsup2

I have bought other things, as seen on tv, but I can't seem to remember all of them.

If we're talking shopping network stuff:

Joy Magnano hangers-we have probably 300 between the closet that my husband and I share and our daughter's closet. I'm getting ready to order more. These are fantastic!

Slanket- I needed last minute little gifts under the tree. My DH, grown DS's, Ds's girlfriend and DD all love it. It's like a Snuggie. They don't mind the open back because the use it on the sofa.

Wei East skin products-these are the best face creams I've ever tried. I'm 50 and when age comes up, people are always surprised because they think that I'm in my late 30s or early 40s. I've used these products since they debuted on HSN.

Bare minerals- good stuff

Luminesse air brush pro-this is fantastic. It gives you the appearance of flawless skin. I ordered 2 starter foundation kits for myteenaged daughter and me. We love it.

I have never purchased from an infomercial, but I was given that GT Express thing CathrynRose wants as a gift...I have opened it up and looked through everything, but I have never once used it. :)

My DS gave us Mighty Putty for Christmas. Apparently he thought we needed it. I haven't had a reason to try it out yet.

I have the Joy Mangiano hangers and I do like them - got them off HSN/QVC.

I also got the Hercules hangers from QVC/HSN. Forgot where I put them and just recently found them. Haven't used them to date.

I really want the ShamWow. :rotfl2:

I have the hands-free can opener. Love it. Tossed my old can opener.

I have Oxi Clean. I'm on the fence with this - I can't see a significant difference.

Kohl's has a section in the store for "As Seen on TV" section.

Great thread!

George Foreman Grill......use it less than we used to, but still like it

Ron Popeil "Set It And Forget It" Rotissierie...love it, still use it after many yrs

Joy Mangano's Huggable Hangars...love them, little by little I am converting to all huggable hangars. Nothing falls off and really does give you space.

Green Bags....Have had success with them, but I have only used them for greens

Eyeing the Shamwow....anyone have any experience with it?

DD laughs everytime the snuggie commercial comes on yelling "it's a backwards bathrobe people!!!!!":happytv:

I purchased the H20 mop.......haven't opened the box yet. I hope it works.:rolleyes1

Ugh! I bought it and it was a piece of junk! I ended up buying the Shark steam mop and it works way better. You can find it at Costco sometimes, or Target.

Dont you wanna make little mini cakes with candy bars in them? And Tortilla's? And heat up last night's leftovers? And Omlettes? And the soup with stuffing thing?

.

Dont you have a mug missing a handle you need repaired??

Does anyone have this:

Cathy Mitchell!! I freaking love her. I've wanted the GT Express for so long!

But no matter how many new products they come out with, nothing will ever beat "set it and....FORGET IT!" That's just an infomercial classic.

Well, right now I have a nasty cold so all I want to do is heat up last night's potato soup - but I'll try to try it out soon and report back. ;)

I haven't purchased Joy's hangers but I am seriously thinking of purchasing those plastic hangers that have about 6 holes in them. Well there is a hanger and six holes and then another hanger. Then you take the one hanger off the rod and all six pieces of clothes kind of hang down and take up less space.
I would love to hear if anyone has those.
Had them growing up, mm-mm years ago. Yes, they're THAT old (everything old is new again). They're okay, but not particularly impressive.

OH dont get that!! The whole back is open like a hospital gown and your butt cheeks will get frost bite!
Well, it's actually big enough (96") to wrap all the way around you, but it works best with some type of clothing underneath ;)

The Buxton Bag!!! It looks like you can do a week's worth of grocery shopping and not need any bags, cuz you can stuff it all in your Buxton Bag!!!
Uh, yeah. Don't believe everything you see on TV ;)

I admit the ShamWow looks cool!
Billy Mays has his own version - and I trust him more :)

I don't trust the actual informercials, but I'll buy the products from QVC/HSN, or CVS, or Walgreen's.

Right now I have (all unused)
GT Express
Slanket
The blue pasta cooker - now I just need a microwave big enough inside for it to revolve
Electric jar opener
Grip thing that you can attach to the tub wall with just pressure.

We have SHAM WOW!! LOVE it!!! works as designed just don't put it in a dryer a large towel will turn to the size of a post card...:rotfl2:

Set it and forget it.. works wonderfully on all types of food.. we have gone through 2 so far we use it that often...

I got the magic bullet for xmas - so after my kitchen is remodeled I will open it up and try it out.. but starting in 2 wks.. I will be living off of plastic plates and utenciles for a while.. yikes..

Oxiclean - can do without it but does help in some situations.
we use space savor bags for our trip to WDW this past aug to help make room in the luggage and that worked out well.

My mother in law LOVES to buy us stuff from infomercials...

I have a magic bullet, which is amazing, I love it for pasta sauces and smoothies, would totally recommend that!

I love my shamwow too, it really works like it says it does!

However, my green bags sucked, they didn't work at all for anything...and as for my pedipaw, my cats took one look at it and left the room in disgust. It's now in it's box in my closet...I think the cat they use on the commercial must have been sedated, I mean, cat owners, would any of your cats sit happily while you held their paws and polished away their claws?!

I really wanted a snuggie, DH went crazy and pointed out that we lived in FLORIDA and that was the end of that.

We have shamwows!! I bought them at Target, 4 big, 4 little for $20.00. I love them. If you get them, make sure they are damp and they work better

Not bought off tv but at Wal-Mart:

Ped Egg: works great.

Mom has bought several items like those.

George Foreman Grill-uses it every now and then to cook burgers.
The Vidalia Chopper-haven't seen her use it yet.
The chopper where you put the food into a cup and put the lid on and turn the handle-I've used it the last 2 times I made deviled eggs. Works alot quicker than smashing the yolks with a fork.
Those pads you put on your feet-haven't seen her use those.

I've heard that the spaghetti thing you cook spaghetti in the microwave was a "Dud" in our local FOX stations "Deal or Dud" segment.

Edit: I have the version of the Space Saver bags that don't need a vacuum to remove the air and have used them on various trips to save space. Friends of mine have the vacuum-needed version to pack their costuming (they're a costume dealer at various conventions).

I live in FL too...and between the air vents always dropping cool air on me, and the house being tiled..I am ALWAYS freezing...I play World of Warcraft, and find it hard to be wrapped in a blanket, pugs all over, AND play the game at the same time..

DH thinks they are ugly, and refuses...

DS and I have wanted one of those for at least 2 years... I am mesmerized by the infomercial every time it comes on. I was *this* close to ordering one, but then went looking for reviews. The vast majority of the ones I found were horrible. :( Said the wells are way smaller than they make them look, that the coating was flaking off after a few days, etc.

I still really want one, though. :(

LOL, I have one. I've only used it a few times. It does not work like it looks on TV, and the wells are a lot smaller. That said, it's not horrible. It makes great little cakes and the wraps aren't too bad if you can stuff it in the wells. So, it's only so so, I haven't used it enough to see if the coating was flaking off, it certainly doesn't after only a few days.

OH God!!! LOLOLOL!

Did you see the AD on this thread now???

It's that stinking Snuggie! Tempting me, taunting me - as usual!

Oooo - it comes with a free book light, too!!!
