I am out of the loop...is there a Universal (not the Studios) Mug in the works?

I am just sick to death of the whole debate. Yes, if you are staying at multiple resorts and would like unlimited beverage privileges it is sort of ridiculous to have to buy two or three different mugs (multiply that by the no. in your party).

Was there ever a plan to release a pricier mug that could be useable at all waterparks and resorts (for ex.)? You could still have the one mug/one resort option. Yes, I can already see some problems with a universal mug but OMG, people!!! :earseek:

OK, now I'm laughing at myself for even entering into this fray. I'll have to check but I think this is the first time I ever made a peep about the whole mug thing.

Oh, and I never get a mug...I just pay as I go.

Sammie has posted the official word on a mug that can be used at multiple resorts, if you are staying at multiple resorts on Page 10 of the previous thread. Not entirely universal but certainly eliminates the need to buy mugs when splitting stays. It also removes me, at least partially, from the "ethically challanged" identity that some posters would have liked to bestow upon me.

Oh-wonderful! Happy day!

(I didn't actually read that far into the previous thread. This thread wasn't an attack on anyone, btw.;))

Actually I could see Disney doing something like including fountain drinks as an included item under the meal plan. You'd get a mug with a bar code that corresponded to your resort stay. Disney would be giving away soda but they might offset that against the bottled drinks you can now get under the plan. Would make sense to consider this change next year when they announce an increase in the price of the plan.

Right now any guest with the meal plan and a refillable mug is better off getting the free fountain drink and getting a bottle of water or soda for later use.
