I've been enjoying the "purses" thread by crzy4mm2, and it got me to wondering about shoes!

Now, I've never been crazy for designer purses or shoes, but I recently bought a $165 pair of Cole Hahn black slingbacks on a whim. Dh thought I had gone crazy! I'd like to tell him about my DIS friends, who are crazier than me ;)

So, do tell about your "baddest" shoes!

*LOL* Shoes is one area I won't spend alot of money on! I find they all were out just as fast!! The more expensive ones don't last!

That said, my more "expensive" shoes are my Berkies. I have 4 pairs, ranging from abt $65-$100. (From QVC, would be more if I bought them retail.)

I normally dont spend more than a 100 on a pair of shoes., but my wedding shoes cost $375. It was worth it my feet didnt hurt at all.

My most expensive shoes currently are a pair of $80 Teva's. The most expensive I've ever owned were probably Doc Martens...I think they were around $100 or so.

I'm a cheap shoe person too. I think 69.00 on decent sneakers is the most I've ever spent. I'm not one of those who has a million pairs of shoes either. I only have 3 pairs right now. 2 of which are sneakers.;)

In my single days when I had a great job & my condo was paid for......I only wore Ferragamo shoes. They were about $250 to $300. Now that I'm married & a SAHM of 2 kids & we have a hefty mortgage payment, I get $65 (if full price) New Balance sneakers & I have a pair of black flats ($12.99) from Payless. Boy, have times changed!

Hey, Tarralee... I love slingbacks, too! And I can't say how much I've spent on shoes because that would ruin the whole "denial" thing I have going. :teeth:

Well, I love shoes, but luckily I buy most of them only once a year. Every August in the Hamptons, there is a HUGE tent shoe sale offering over 20,000 pairs of shoes. Designer shoes like Stuart Weitzman, Donald Pilner, Anne Klein, Via Spiga, Marc Jacobs,...normally priced at $100 to $250 are $75. Shoes from designers like Steve Madden, David Aaron... are $25-$30. There is a long line to get in, but worth it. You see almost every person leaving with 3 to 6 pairs of shoes. I buy up every summer for the next year. I'd be in real trouble without it!

I'm mainly a flip flops person, so the most I've ever really spent was $10 :)

I always wore Ferragamos when I was working. They cost a fortune but my feet did not hurt and they lasted for years and years.

I am a stay at home retiree (taking care of an 83 year old father who lives with me) - I have my New Balance sneakers (bought on sale for $39) at Penney's and love my Payless shoes. They are so cute and so cheap. We must have some common shopping genes! (I grew up in Hazel Park - a Detroit suburb.)

I do wear Birkenstocks a lot though. I usually buy a pair at the outlet in Orlando if they are cheap enough.

Tanya & I are all about Doc Marten boots & shoes. We've got around 10 pair around the house with an average tag of $125-$150

See one of my tags...LOL!

I LOVE shoes! However, I do hate to wear them...no joke! I wear Borns, Clarks, Merrills, Nikes, Tevas, Berks, etc. I think the most I've ever paid for a pair of shoes is $100. You know what I do with those $100 pair of shoes? Yard work. :teeth:

OH NOOOOOOOO i am afraid of this tread.........

you see I star am a shoeaholic

I can NOT pass up a sale even if I'm going to be late to an appt.

I can NOT resist I have no powers, I do not look at price, I just buy. IT's a horrible awful disease, one which has caused my DH to go shopping with me, to try to be the voice of reason.

My son has several pairs as well due to the fact that I don't feel as guilty if I am buying them for others.

I know I have some from when I wasn't a SAHM that are in the OH MY GOD range and once again I blame brighten for my current expenses.(those are in the couple hundred dollar range). I'm not biases tho if they are cute and fit me then I will buy them no matter the store. I have some adorable tommy flip flops I bought end of season sale last summer for 6 bucks!

I have some WILDLY expensive shoes, but I don't buy them.....my mom does. She's a shoe fanatic and worries that I'll buy "cheap" shoes and they'll ruin my feet. What she doesn't know is......I put hers in the closet and continue to wear the "cheap" stuff I buy. Cheap stuff being Easy Spirit walking shoes and sandels mostly, and hey.....they're usually over $100 a pair. Oh well......:guilty:

I learned long ago that you get what you pay for. I lived in military issue boots for too many years, and those hot, uncomfortable corfam dress shoes. And now that I dress for work I have no problem buying shoes that fit, and support my feet. I also wear an odd size. 9 1/2 EE. So shoes aren't that easy to come by in my size. So $200-$300 for a pair of shoes is not unusual. But they are so comfortable, long lasting, and of course well maintained. They usually last for 5 or 6 years of regular wear. The old Marine training coming out again as I do shine my shoes on a regular basis. And of course my cowboy boots cost an arm and a leg, but they are not 15 years old, on their 10th set of soles and heels.
So, yes, even some of us guys are willing to shop for the important things in life.

Glad to see there are some crazy shoe people too! And even some gentleman understand the value of a good shoe. (yeah, retmarine!)

This was my first expensive shoe purchase, but I must admit I am hooked. I have to wear suits everyday, so that means suit shoes, and these are the first pair that don't hurt! I see taupe, navy, and camel coming soon!

Everyone else, fess up-- what are your baddest shoes?

I spend wayyyyyy too much money on shoes. I just got these, they were around $200:

Shoes are my one vice in life.

The most I have ever spent was $650 for a pair of boots. DH *still* doesn't know I did that, I had to jump through hoops with hiding the credit card bill and such. LOL. Don't tell him, 'kay? :p

Snoopy, your secret is safe with me! And the new kate spade ones are way cute! I'll have to take a pic of my baddest shoes tonight.

Oh boy...reading this thread gives me a warm and cozy feeling. Bonding over shoes, ya gotta love it!

I just found several pair of sandals that I bought at end of season last year; I forgot that I bought them! I have a lot of shoes, however I usually don't pay over $50-60 a pair. I just discovered Zappos, and purchased my first pair of Birkis for 75.00. Just what I needed, an online shoe store that offers free shipping and return!

When your feet are shaped like bricks you have to pay the piper. The most???? $280.00 for good walking shoes. I don’t usually get away with paying less that $100.00. My size?? 5 ½ DD and no arch. My feet would work well on a Hobbit….
