Inspired by "People begging for money":Anyone else hate being ambushed at the store?

By the way we also had the pink breast cancer braclets they could take if they made a donation.

We had Pink breaded braclets and pink ribbon earings for sale.

But most people just made donations.

Last year we stood outside of Publix to raise money for the Breast Cancer 3-day. Everyone has to raise $2,200 to be able to walk in the event. Not everyone that I had trained with had their money. So we decided to stand outside Publix.
This is one of the things that I would donate to. I'm sure you have pamphlets on the event, can speak about it clearly, etc. I would know that my money is going to a legitimate charity. Good Luck with the fundraising! :thumbsup2

It seems like every time I go grocery shopping it happens. Both entrances to the store are stationed by people/children selling something or doing a carwash. They literally block you from going in the store. I politely say, "no thanks," and go on my way.

THEN on my way out, they are after me again. I just turned them down not 5 minutes ago. And no, I don't say this to them, just say, "no, thanks," again.

All I want are my groceries. It just gets annoying to be ambushed every time I go. It's funny, we've tried going different days and different hours and it seems like someone is always there.

Anyone else hate being ambushed??

I just say no thanks each time. I do charity fundrasing and can appreciate their efforts, but they're usually scouts taking popcorn orders.

To sell in front of the store, the group has to get permission from the store manager. I suppose if enough customers complained, then the groups wouldn't be aloowed there.

What about the homeless people that ask for money?? I think it's because I live in Tempe and Mill Ave is a magnet for freaks. I have someone ask me at least once a week. I tell them to either get a job because really who can't get a job these days or that I don't have any cash which is normally true since I charge everything for the reward points.

As far as the random youths they don't really bug me. I don't see that many of them and I have had none throw themselves at me. I normally just tell them no thanks and they leave me alone.

Yes we did. And we all had out 3-day shirts on with our Name tags stating that we were officially signed up for the event.

We all all had business cards with our web-site Head qtr page for anyone that wanted to send in or do an online donation.

Thanks - It truly was an amazing journey last year. 3-days and 60 miles that were life changing in my book. :thumbsup2
