Inspired By Obituary Thread... What Do YOU Think Could Have Happened Here?

I read this obituary last week... it's really had me wondering since then, and, inspired by the obituary thread, I thought I would post this here...

A married couple "passed away in their home". It didn't say the circumstances, but it did say that they were both 36 and had SIX children. I just wonder what could have killed BOTH of them in their HOME, but all six children managed to survive?

If there was a fire, it is strange to me that the adults would die and the children... all SIX... would manage to escape. It also seems weird that all six children could be away from home on a weekday during the school year at the same time, if that was the case.

I really wonder what could have happened.

Carbon monoxide poisoning? Maybe the kids had already left for school and the parents were still at home.

You never know! My sister's neighbors blew each other away in Chattanooga a few years back and not a PEEP showed up on the news.

A family member might have done it for the kids sake. I mean the beautiful obit.

Home invasion, murder suicide. Some kind of poisioning from something the kids didn't eat or drink.

My guess would be murder/suicide. A lot of stuff that happens around town does not make it on the local news.

There was a murder/suicide in my town last year and the obits for both of the people were very long and detailed. Don't recall if pics were included though.

I know which one you are talking about - I live in the area too. It was a murder suicide - husband shot wife and then himself. I read they were 52, not 36, but did see the six kids. There was a brief article in the paper two days earlier.

I was thinking about that when I saw the obit, then I remembered the story. But then I thought, if my Dad killed my Mom, I don't think I would put his picture in there with hers - kwim? I think I would be really, really mad at my Dad! Now, I don't know the story behind it, but I don't think anything deserves that - my Mom is in poor health, but I wouldn't want my Dad to off her.

Hmm... it was DEF a picture of a young couple, standing happily by a tree... it was in the Freep and it DID say 36, but perhaps they were happier at 36, gave a pic of them when they were 36, and it wouldn't be the first time the newspapers screwed up! LOL!

I believe the article about the murder/suicide listed them as 52, I didn't really read the age on the obit. You are right about that not being the only time the Freep hasn't screwed

I saw this Death Notice too and wondered the same thing.
