I'm trying to make a payment to my dues, with Disney Gift Card. I selected Pay All, New Card-entered my DGC and the EAN on the card. The card balance appears in the box correctly, but when I press submit payment I get a message saying :
"One or more items require your attention: Sorry your payment method was declined. Please try another form of payment or reduce your payment amount."

This DGC is in Canadian $, but I've never had a problem before when paying my annual dues.

Seeing "reduce your payment amount" may indicate you have to say how much of the contract you are paying. Have you tried selecting "Pay by Contract" and then the amount on the gift card?

I didn't want to do that, as the exchange rate varies, these are in Canadian $. I don't know exactly how much they are worth. I do know they are worth less than my total dues.

Does anyone know if I make a payment towards all of my contracts now is it going to take a payment automatically in January again on the 15th or will what I pay now on my own cover that?

If you pay by contract enough to cover the Jan 15rh payment it is supposed to adjust.

I see this wording when I go to look at my annual dues, and I don't know if it's been saying this or if it's new:

Annual Dues Disclaimers

Disney Vacation Club only accepts payments from the owner(s) listed on the deed or an authorized representative of a legal entity (e.g., corporation, LLC, trust) named on the deed. Payments must be made using a U.S. bank account or credit card where the payer is both the account holder or authorized signer and the deeded owner or authorized representative.

This wording was also in an insert in the mailer. It doesn't list gift cards. I'm wondering if they're no longer accepting gift cards as a payment method.

The insert also says "Payments that do not meet these criteria may not be accepted."

I went to my account to check this out, and when I check Pay by Contract and then go down to payment method and choose New Card, it lists CC, DGC, and Disney Visa Rewards card as options. So I guess that statement means I can’t use my father’s CC (for example) to pay our dues since he’s not an owner on our DVC contracts and I’m not an authorized user on his CC account. So as of today, at least, gift cards are still acceptable.

I've always paid by gift cards, and am Canadian as well. The last time was last week and had no trouble. I have to do each gift card in two steps. One step I'm choosing an amount that I know will be less than the card is worth, then when it takes the payment it will show me exactly how much is left, and then I input that amount to use up the card. I still have trouble sometimes where it tells me that I have say $6.57 left on the card, I enter 6.57 and then it tells me I don't have enough on the card and I have to use 6.56 to get the payment to go through. This has only happened a handful of times though over many gift cards.

I believe this pay by contract is what you need to do … haven’t paid ours yet for this year but have used gift cards in the past and this was the case
