was to give up smoking......hubby and I did it New Years eve 22 years ago.....I was a heavy smoker....and we just did it cold turkey...my hubby can still smell his brand being lit up ..and know that it is his cigarette.....I can smell better both on and off me...hahaha...
Well, I have not personally ever smoked, but I was going to answer when my dad quit smoking, since anyone who lives with a smoker has to smoke too. My dad quit some 45 years ago when I was a child. He has health problems from all the years he smoked, and I have asthma from all the years he smoked.
It's been about 26 years now. I quit when I met my DH. He was anti -smoking and if there was to be a future for us, it was either him or the cigarettes.
Kath, that was a wonderful gift to your DH, and to you.
June 3rd 1999. I quit on my wifes birthday. After smoking over 2 packs a day for over 20 years, and trying to quit many, many times.....I quit the day after the doctor told us our son is allergic to cigarette smoke.
January 21, 2001. I had my last cigarette outside the Orlando Airport, waiting to come home. I told DH that I was quitting after that trip, and I have never looked back! Almost 2 years now!
