Inspired by Mousekeeping Tips/Towel Animals

Do you/ would you take a towel animal?

  • No, I wouldn't take them, it's stealing

  • Yes, of course I'd take it, it was a gift... right?

  • I've never gotten a towel animal

  • What the heck is a towel animal and why would I steal one?

So, if taking hotel towels is stealing, is taking a towel animal stealing?

It's up to the resort.

When I asked at AKL, they told me to leave the towel animals behind, so I did.

I always considered it stealing. You should've seen the towel human I got one year... never in my mind did I think I was allowed to take any of that home.

I wanted one of the towel animals that we received. I went to the front desk and asked home much it cost to buy it. The CM told me it was left for me in my room so I could take it since it was a gift. So home the towel animal went.

as much as i like towel animals, i wouldn't take them home even if i could. what the heck would i do with that!? just more junk around the house which we DON'T need.

When i stayed at Caribbean beach, we asked if we were allowed to take them home..they said yes, so i did..they are on a shelf in my room

I voted no. the thing will eventually come unraveled anyway. probably sooner than later

I've never gotten one in all the times we've stayed in the resorts...but I always just assumed they were simply the towels you would have gotten anyway but just folded cool (like napkins folded into swans in fancy restaurants.) It wouldn't have occurred to me that they were to take home.

yeah ..alll the money I have spent there and I have only gotten 1 :guilty:

So i sprayed it with hairpspray and took it home :cool1:

it sits on my nightstand :wizard:

Actual they are more involved than that. They glue googly eyes on them etc.

I took pictures of mine and left them behind in the room. They were a nice treat when we were at VWL. Never have received them anywhere else in all of my other WDW stays.

I've never got one. I've seen them in people windows, but in like 10 trips, no one has ever left me one. We got an elephant and a turtle on the cruise, but the were made out of the extra blanket puls some towels and didn't have the eyes.

I have stayed at Disney more times than I can recall, and we just got our first towel animal last month. It was just a fancily folded towel, no glued-on eyes or anything. We took a picture of it, but other than that I just consider it a towel. :confused3 I would not take it home, what would I do with it anyways?

When we stayed at CBR we got one made from a washcloth - a bunny that held the pen by the phone. I did take that one home. That was the very 1st one I ever got. Then the last time we were there (in May) at the WL we got a towel Mickey head which I took pictures of and left in the room when we left - since it was actually 3 seperate pieces once it was moved it wasn't anything anymore.

This actually was a hot-button issue earlier in the year, so we actually asked Disney for an official ruling. Here is their reply:
Dear Brian,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Although we appreciate your interest, please know the towel animals provided by housekeeping are for the guest's enjoyment during their visit with us.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Taking towel animals? Ohh, that's kidnapping.
If you were a towel animal where would you rather be, at your house
or in Disney?
