Is it my imagination, or does BWV have quite a bit of inventory reserved specifically for cash ressies through CRO? I talk to so many people who make reservations for 1 and 2 bedroom units through CRO for BWV. It made me wonder if they have a larger than 4% inventory for that purpose.

I agree, it does seem to be that way. I guess we have no way to know for sure though what % they have for cash ressies. Or do we?

While I can't be sure, my belief is that the larger inventory is due to BWV members trading points for DCL or other options in the "Collections".

AAHHH! I had not thought of that, Carol. But why would there be a suposed larger number at BWV than the other resorts?

Might just be the "timing". Inventory changes quickly.

Might just be a perception. Maybe you just talked to those who are going to stay at BWV or maybe you just remember them

of BWV people take Rick's advise and switch to OKW because of the larger rooms

No, this isn't a question about which resort has larger rooms or such. I just know that I talk to lots of folks who get 1 and 2 bedroom villas at BWV through CRO, but I rarely hear of anyone doing that at ANY of the other DVC resorts. I just seemed like maybe they have more than 4% of the inventory available.

I wonder if DVC is allowed to move their 4% plus trade inventory around at the seven month window.

For instance, they may know that they will have cash demand for BWV over Food and Wine, but are unlikely to have that much cash demand for OKW during the same period. At seven months, they may be able to move their "ownership" from harder to book to the public (but very nice and large) OKW rooms to the easier to market BWVs.

people may also call it BWV when they mean BWI which has a large number of rooms only thru CRo

That was one of the things I thought was possible too, Crisi, but this October we have a GV reserved at OKW, and when I made my day by day ressie at 11 months, the CMs all told me it looked like OKW was going to be at capacity. I am sure ALL DVC resorts are heavily booked for that time, but BWV and BCV would be the main emphasis, with their proximity to Epcot.

People who bought at BCV love the long hallways. A cruise ship is the next best thing to being Home.

No, these are people that I know, and they are mostly staying in BWV 1 and 2 bedroom units. I have yet to run across anyone just staying in a studio. That's another thing I found interesting.

Is this thread mainly for Minnesota residents only?

Did anyone else notice the humor in this thread??!!

I think the Boardwalk Villas and Inn are confused by many people. I also get information from people who think they stayed at VWL when it was really the Lodge, or even Ft. Wilderness. They may be the same people who think they go to FL to Disneyland...

Just another Minnesotan with an opinion!

OK, I'll bite - I just moved to Minnesota :jester: :hyper:

I guess DVC could have retained more than 4% of BWV - it is probably in the best location for cash ressies for non DVC members - close to MGM and Epcot, The Boardwalk, overlooks Crescent Lake etc. - maybe with the convention business at BWI, the overflow goes into BWV cash as well

thanks

You are aware of what the taxes are like here, aren't you? And the winters? We use taxes and winters to scare off people.

Hey, all you Minnesota folks should have been at the meet this evening instead of beating this dead horse of a thread!:jester: We had a great time!::yes::

Interesting thread. I'm surprised nobody has brought up the points that were sold for the sales center rooms that are still not part of inventory. IIRC, those points were sold last summer, but the DVC sales office is STILL there (for a few more weeks, at least.)

Seems like it would then be several more months before the offices are converted to usable guest rooms. So where did DVC come up with a year's worth of points for units that don't even exist? :scratchin

Right! :wave2:
And since I didn't do the roller coaster and our waitress didn't offer dessert and Diane beat me home to her computer, I am soothing myself with a Harry and David truffle. Thanks to Zen1, if you're out there, for organizing!
