Ok, I was reading mamajoan's thread...I have never cruised, I have never ever done lots of things. I think I may just be the nerdiest 38 year old on the planet!!!

In highschool, I was only allowed out til midnight, mever ever broke that rule. Only got drunk once before the age of 21, and well was inncocent as can be  Never did anything questionable, I don't think I even smoked a ciggarette til I was out of college, and I am talking abou the kind you buy at the store...A wild time for me was a concert....

How about you? Or am I an oddity?

I was a cheerleader, but nothing like the typical cheerleader.

I was always very outspoken (imagine that!) and never quite fit in with the rest of the cheerleaders. I never liked cliques and had friends from all walks of life, which disturbed the majority of the cheerleading squad.

I also was a bit wild, and smoked way too much pot in high school. Ah, a sign of the times, I guess. Never did drink much, but the crowd I hung with did. Its amazing we are all still alive. We did cruise, and often times we did drink and drive, but that was before DWI's. No one was ever in a serious accident, thank God. I look back on it and realize how stupid it was now.

Above all though, I really wasn't much different than then I am now. I'm still loyal to the core, if you were my friend back then I would give you the shirt off my back. I'm still the same way today. And most of my friends from High School are still my friends today. :)

Without getting myself into too much trouble, I'll just say I was no angel. I did a lot of wild and very very stupid things in high school, especially my last two years. I finally cleaned up my act just about the time I met my DH... who (to probably balance my stupidity) was a very good kid in high school. Didn't drink, smoke or do anything like that.

so far you guys are confirming what I have known all along...I am a NERD...GEEK...OMG...I think I need a life....lol

Glo you weren't a geek... I ought to have Luis come in here and tell you what his high school years were like. You'd feel like a wild one compared to him!!!

I don't know Elaine...I bet I could give him a run for his money :)

I was a good girl. :teeth: How much trouble could this group of kids get in?

Good girl here...the name snow white didn't come from out of the air ya know....;) ;) :p ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) :smooth:

They used to call me "Miss Priss" in HS
I'm so glad my DS who is a sophmore takes after me!, and not DH...he was a wild one in HS thought he was a real tough guy:rolleyes:

I was a BIG square in high school. Didn't drink, smoke, skip classes or anything!

But then small town girl went off to Chicago to go to college........:p

I never talked back....I never was out after my curfew....we had an eleven o clock one.....even when brian and I were engaged .....I still came home before midnight ....I think the first time I had a sip of beer was when I was married.....I am trying to think of something that I did wrong......but I can't ......Brian said I must of been some kind of angel.....and he is rolling his eyes on that one.......I was GOOD ...honest......I did smoke in sorority.......I do remember getting in trouble.......I got grounded for that.......that was where my smoking started.......and ended 22 years ago.....bad marie.....bad girl....hahaha

I'm still a teenager. I've never done any drugs, smoked any cigarettes or had alcohol (except maybe twice to try at family events but that doesn't count :D ). Everyone says I'm a "perfect angel" lol. That's how I plan to stay, I have no desire to do any of those things. So far we sound pretty similar, Glo :teeth:
We're NOT dorks, haha

I always say if I grew up in today's environment, I would be dead. Did the smoking and beer drinking (so many did both), but never did drugs of any type. Probably more beer before 21 than in total the 37 years since. However, with the crowd I ran with, I am confident I would probably have been dead, had it been today. My teen years were over in '61, well before the drug scene of the late 60's/early 70's and the prevelance of them today. To this day, I have only once as much as seen a marijuana cigarette. (happy for not being exposed to it too)

I lived in a very upper/middle class suburban neighborhood, but two of my buddies from there had ties to some really rough, and tough, neighborhoods from the city. One was from the Italian neighborhood and the other from around the old Riverview Amusement Park area (like Coney Island). Got arrested a number of times, though no record, thankfully.

We used to street race cars back when it was possible to do it (American Graffiti like) and had a few gang-like show downs, again, thankfully no one got really hurt nor killed.

Lady M always says to the kids, and friends, you would never have thought Dan had that kind of a youth, would you, LOL. And I have had several DIS'ers say likewise. I agree, it is hard for me to fathom that time of my life, though I must say it gave me a well-rounded view of life. And I am so thankful drugs were not in vogue then.

Good for you, BL, and don't ever change!!!!!!!!

Like Snoopy - I had friends of all walks of life. Most of whom I went to school with since 1st grade. In HS We used to hang out on the weekends and drink cheap wine LOL. One time ( The first time I drank ) we drank Vodka. YIKES:eek:   I got so sick, all I could think about was dying:rolleyes: I remember my friends yelling at me that I would be OK and I wasn't gonna die LOL! I had a hangover for 3 days after that:eek:   . But other than that I was probably a good kid, never hurt anyone / anything. We also used to cruise around for no special reason, just because we could I guess LOL.

Glo - your not a geek!!!

I was pretty much a naive, goody two shoes. My dad taught in the same school so I never ever cut a class. I loved attending all our HS sports games and dated a football player. I didn't ever have a drink until my senior year ( the drinking age was 18). I had to be in by 10 or 11 even my sr. year. I always made curfew.

I think I must have hung out with Snoopy and Tony-NJ (in spirit at least). I hung with the right crowd until about 9th grade, and then it all went to Hell. I remember an incident with hard cider that nearly killed me. Threw up all over the street, out my mom's car window, in the shower, everywhere. Dad didn't ground me for that because he told me I was suffering my punishment all on my own. I was sick for days. I was also involved in a head on collision at 17. The driver was completely wasted, but I was dumb enough to get in the car. I still have a rough time in cars if I'm not the driver. Amazing I survived. But, I'm happy to report that I no longer touch anything that isn't prescribed by the doc. I've got a kid and MS, neither one mixes well with mind altering chemicals. :D

Babylove-Do not change!!!!!!!!:) :)

Dan-I still cant picture you a thug!!!! (By teh way any pics you can post to show us????????)

Glo-you are so not a nerd!!

Snoopy,Tony- We probably would of been friends! :)

I never really got in trouble, My friends all made good grades(I did not!) and cheered or were involved with school activities.
I never smoked. (YUCK)
I didnt drink till I discovered it my Senior year and drank at parties are fave drinks were Boones farm (YUCK) and Michelob light (with straws lol )
I was friends with bascially everyone not one particuclar group.

Now I hope my DD is a "nerd" lol lol!! Although I dont see that happening I think she will be the leader of the group though!!lol :)

I think I did just about everything that you were not supposed to do... I can't even type a lot of it here.

It is weird though, somehow I still managed to get my priorities in order as required. I skipped a lot of school but no one ever noticed because I kept up an 92% average. I don't know how I did it looking back. I think it was just because I loved to read (although a lot of that reading was on a subway coming back from god knows where late at night looking more like a tart than a schoolgirl)

Mom was a single parent too and I knew what she had gone through for me and I made sure that my actions never hurt her. Even when I was late she always knew where I was, how much money I had with me and what friends were around me and when I was getting home and how. I never ever lied.

My boyfriend and I were the ones who stole peoples keys when they shouldn't have the and got them home. We did lose two of our group though. Still sad.

I never did anything really bad though, never stole or hurt anyone. I had some great experiences! I did some weird things but I would like to think I still did them with class!
