Inspired by mamajoan....what kind of teenager were you?

I lived the life of a Dead Head, from my head down to my toes, through and through. Enough said. :p :p

Marissa - that's wonderful! Don't ever change! We love you just the way you are! :) :)

I was shy, played sports, got good grades, never in any trouble. I respected my parents, teachers and elders. I have had the same best friend since I was 6. We liked to hang out, but usually we just listened to the stereo and talked about boys, or talked on the phone for hours. When we went out, it was either cruising or to hang out at the local burger joint. We were definitely boring, but we didn't think so!!;)

I'm still a teenager now, but I'm not in high school. I was very innocent!! I was also very unpopular which is probably why I was so innocent. I was an athlete but didn't hang out with the athletes. I was also smart but didn't hang out with the "nerds." I had a small group of friends, most of which were younger than me (I'm in college now and most of my friends are still in high school). I never smoked, did drugs, or drank alcohol (which is probably why a lot of people didn't really like me:rolleyes: ). I also never really stayed out late. I've gotten a little worse with that after I graduated since I've been coming home late a lot and have snuck out a few times:eek: (but never to do anything bad).

I was perpetually in trouble as a teenager. The number one problem in my crowd was alcohol. The drinking age was 18 then, so we all had fake id's from the moment we entered high school, and drinking and going to bars was a huge part of our social life.

I lost count of the number of times I was grounded.

For my 17th birthday, my parents gave me this enormous, beautifully wrapped box. I opened it and waded through a ton of tissue paper to find my gift at the bottom of the box....it was the "Get Out of Jail Free" card from a Monopoly game.

I look back and realize how lucky we all were, that no one was killed or seriously injured from all the drinking and driving we did.

Let's just say that my 3-year-old DD is exactly like me, and I'm already dreading the teenage years! I was a straight-A student, the kid all my friends loved bringing home because their parents adored me. Little did they know.....I put my poor mom through a living hell for a few years.

I was a passenger in a car that went cruising, never "cruised" myself :)

Never smoked or drank. Did date "nice" boys and I was one of those good girls that grew up in the 50's and 60's.

Never talked as ugly as I tend to do sometimes now in my old age.

Didn't have a curfew because I didn't need one, I was never out later than midnight.

My sister....well, she was the opposite of me and she thought I was the most priggish, snobbish boring person in the world. I probably was....but I was happy :)

luvmy2sams, I was the same! Great grades, secretary-treasurer of the Student Council, in the gifted program, volunteered, nice to people, etc.

However, I also smoked a LOT of pot (and no, it never did lead to any "harder" drugs), hung out with some questionable boys who drove fast cars, came home for my curfew and then snuck back out via the back door ... etc.

I survived it, but I'm not sure I will when my 8yoDD gets there!!!!!

I didn't have a curfew. I rarely dated. I've never been drunk (although a friend of mine tried her best to get me drunk the night we graduated hs-she passed out drunk instead;) ). I wasn't wild at all. Very quiet. For about the last 2 years of high school, I was rarely at home, I stayed with a friend of mine and her parents (her dad was a Baptist preacher), or a friend of my mom's (to say my home life was turbulent at that time would be a mild understatement). I don't miss being a teenager at all.

man....I think I should have become a nun....lol

Some of the nicest people on this board were wild people...lol
Ok, who wants to help me through mid-life crisis...I think I need to be wild for once...

Not to wild, I have kids and am responsible. See, I can't even think wild...lol

no details... I guess I've done my share, I prefer the past to stay there.
Let's just say night and day compared to who I am today ;)

I'll just say I was an angel most of the time. I worked for the principal so even when I cut classes, which wasn't much, everyone thought I was working for him.
I didn't drink, I didn't smoke pot, didn't need to, the bus was filled with it.
Then there are the times that I wasn't an angel and I got into more trouble than I wanted.

Boots actually did much of nothing. I was a book worm and mostly stayed at home. I did a lot of studying. I might have gone riding around with some friends some on Saturday night. But I was a nerd.

I was a semi-geek, I think. I would do the occasional keg party on the weekends in high school, but I always seemed to have the good sense to leave before it got out of hand(as they often did;) ). I was not a huge drinker, tried pot once, didn't like it, never tried it again. Never smoked. I had heart surgery as a child, was an athlete in high school(if you can believe that;) )so I figured smoking would not be a good thing to do for those reasons.Had a generally nice core group of friends, although, I pretty much got along with every "clique" in the school. The "cool" kids didn't have a problem with me, the "rough" kids didn't have a problem with me, the "super geeks" I was nice to , so they didn't have a problem with me. I kind of just moseyed along, doing my thing, being pretty middle-of-the-road on most things. I didn't have any great melodramas(I had one girlfriend who took care of the melodrama part of teenagerhood for everyone:eek: ). I enjoyed high school, didn't have a problem with following the rules, participated in sports, the school play, the honor society, the yearbook. All in all, I'd say pretty normal.

I was a good kid. To this day I've never smoked a cigarette or tried drugs... and I've had maybe a total of 2 alcohollic drinks in my life (definitely never drunk). I worked really hard at school and got top marks. I never stayed out late, never went to wild parties, and didn't date much. So I was either a really boring or a really good teenager, depending on how you look at it. ;)

I think glo is my twin...:o ...didn't do the crazy things til I was out of H.S....

Shep, I am still good...it is getting boring... :p :smooth:

What about that wet t-shirt story???

Shep dear....I had on a white shirt. I had under clothes on..Like all the stuff us woman wear under our clothes, and mine are approved by the Sisters of Saint Mary's ;) believe me...it was not as bad as you think, and it was a shirt from OLD NAVy not a t-shirt.

I also got wet, because I jumped into the pool fully dressed...not quite the same as a wet t-shirt contest :)
