I'd give my parents both an A+; they weren't perfect but I did have a great childhood an could not have been loved more.

I tend to think we are harder on OURSELVES as parents. I think I have A days and I have C days and it probably averages out to a B. :) I have a loving but "difficult" child and as hard as I try, I don't live up to my own expectations some days.

What grade would you give yourself as a parent?

I'm with you, Michelle.

Some days, I'm barely passing, and others I feel like I've gotten a "gold star"!

But I do try!

I do think I've tried to learn from what I think were my parents' mistakes, but I'm sure I'm making some of my own along the way too...

I am not sure what grade I would give myself as a parent. All I know is I try the best that I can to bring my child up in the right manner. Like everyone I have bad days and good days, so I think I would like to say an average of a B+.

:bounce::wave::bounce:

Just like everyone else, I have good days and not so good days, but I suppose I'd give myself a B+ anyway. DD is growing up to be a really great kid - so I guess some of that has to do with me (and DH too :D )

I would give my parents a A++, but they wouldn't dare say that.

A tidbit of knowledge my Mother left me, GOOD parents never say they're good parents because they love so hard that they NEVER think they do enough. She always told me that the WORSE parents always say "I'm a Good Mom or I'm a Good Father" because they only do as much as they THINK they should!

A very wise woman once told me a good report card for a parent is how their kids feel about them by age 27. By then they KNOW. :teeth:

Yesterday I was a very bad parent :( Well, I didn't actually do anything bad, but while my son was napping, all I wanted to do was leave the house & go to the dollar store. I felt so trapped! I kept thinking, he's sound asleep, he'll be ok. :o

I was thinking about this, well sort of, this morning, as I was hugging and kissing my 3 year old awake....... Snuggling up to her and telling her I love her and such....... I dont recall my parents doing that to me........

My temper has been short lately, lots going on, and being pregnant isnt helping (I am not a good pregnant person) But I aways find time to snuggle and hug and kiss my kids........

I guess I rate a C+......... some days a B+ others a C-....... But I have always been hard on myself.......

We need to bake more cookies around here........... LOL

I would give myself a C+ with room for improvement. DD, reading over my shoulder says " Q" . Why "Q" ? She says "questionable"

What an interesting question....

I would give my husband an A or A-, because he seems to always know the perfect way to deal with things, he's involved in all my kids activities, and rarely loses his cool.

Myself though, I would give B-/C+ with definite room for improvement. I have been guilty of "losing it" when I shouldn't, and not always dealing with my 13 yr. old DD in the best fashion. She really knows how to push my buttons.

I asked my boys this question, their answers: 7 yr. old says he gives me 10 A's & 10 yr. old would give me an A or a B+. :p :p :p Can you tell it's been a good day today?
I didn't ask my DD, she is 4.

Seriously though, I don't know. Like other parents I have my good days and bad days. My DH tells me "you're such a good mom", but I'm really hard on myself. There is always room for improvement and I'm always learning something new. :D
