I haven't rented it yet because I guess I'm thinking it will be along the Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomato Line and I hated both of those movies because they were so sad!! I want a funny movie that no one dies and I'm not bawling my eyes out.

So is YaYa sad???

Beth, It will make you laugh and it will make you cry. But I didn't find it overly sad. I enjoyed it. It will make think about your own relationship with your Mom :)

The ya-ya's are pretty sad..;) j/k everyone...
I have to be nice since I am a 'bother'..:jester:

Not really, I thought the book was much sadder.

No one dies.

But I didn't find it particularly funny, yet the book wsa hilarious.

Shep are you a "brother" or a BOTHER...ROTFLOL!!

I have to be nice since I am a 'bother'

I was afraid that one of the mom's die.....or one of the daughters has an illness.....along the lines of Step Mom which made me bawl for a week after I saw it and no one actually died but you knew she was going to.

Check out my tag... I cry at everything, including Ya-Ya... but I did enjoy it!! It really makes you stop and think about your relationship with your Mother...

I'm glad you asked this question, Beth. I can't watch a film that makes me cry. I want to laugh instead.

Shep is definitely a BOTHER! :teeth:

I normally cry, but Ya Ya only brought a few tears to my eyes. It was a decent movie.

I enjoyed Fried Green Tomatoes and Steel Magnolias, but didn't see what the big deal was about YaYas. I bought it on DVD and plan on giving it away because I know I won't bother watching it again. I'm sure the book was better, but after seeing the movie first, I won't bother reading it.

I'm trying to think WHY I liked the first two movies I mentioned, but didn't care for YaYas... I think it's because I just never cared about the characters in this story. I liked the characters in the other movies. As for the actresses, I like ALL of them, including the ones in YaYas. So it wasn't a matter of not liking certain actresses.

I don't know Beth but I'll let you know...seems to be on the agenda for the Ya Ya meet in July!!:)

SHEP!!! BEHAVE!!!:)

I guess I'm the only one who loved that movie. I thought the lines in it were hysterical, and I liked the characters.

The ya-ya's are pretty sad..

Yes, Beth, Shep apparently is a BOTHER!!! ;) :p
