Anyway, I was talking about the first election I ever voted in, the one in which Carter won!!!!:D

What? What? What did you say? Speak UP! (lol).

About the Bifocals, me too, but tri-focals......

Hey waiter! Whose dentures are these in my soup?

Maybe I'm just getting to be a scared little old lady.

You are still a youngster compared to me! I don't think I'd have had the nerve to wait for someone in the grocery store parking lot like my friend did.

I guess I told the guy in the bar to quit touching me because at least subconsciously I knew I was surrounded by police. I've also found through the years at most establishments that I might go to, they've ususally got someone who will get rid of a guy seriously bothering customers (especially female customers).

Two Bush stickers on the car (Bush Cheney 04, and W 04) and Bush buttons all over my bookbag. I've had my windshield bashed (had to be replaced for almost $300) and an Anti-Bush sticker placed over my Bush sticker.

I refuse to take down my stickers, this just makes me stronger in my support. I don't know what those people thought they were doing other than making a poor guy poorer.

I could be wrong, and maybe I just don't pay close enough attention, but I don't ever recall people getting so violent with their opinions during an upcoming election. Sorry about your windshield Joe, that was just plain wrong.

Like I said, maybe I just don't pay close enough attention, I tend to stay away from anything political until it's time to vote. I just don't see the need to get so nasty, placing Kerry bumper stickers over Bush bumper stickers and vice versa. Sheesh!

In this election year the issues AND candidates are so polarizing. It seems to me that both candidates seem to draw some very staunch supporters as well as strong detractors, such that we haven't seen in many years. I also think that any time there is an election during a war there are going to be some very strong emotions on both sides of the issue. Tensions are surely running very high. However, I certainly don't condone ANY of the behaviors described.

I wonder if we'll see an increase in the number of folks who head out to the polls this year?

I don't have anything controversial on my car, but I have been the target of road rage. Some guy threw a beer can at my car, probably because I wouldn't look over at him. Someone else followed and stalked me once on a dark, deserted highway.

My theory is that these people are just weirdos. No matter what you have on your car they will find some reason to bother someone. Just avoid them as much as you can! :D

I was wondering the same thing! I certainly hope so. I think it's kind of sad that so many of us don't vote. It is a priviledge we should be proud of. I vote every year, even if my candidate is behind in the polls. For many reasons: 1. you never know, your vote could be the difference and 2. even if they lose, you then have a right to complain.

But back to the original reason for this thread, I don't own a car, so no bumper stickers. But I don't think I'd put one on my car.
