Nope, never had any of htem. I've been exposed (on purpose) to the chicken pox, and I absolutly can not catch it.

yes to chicken pox at age 24. caught it from my 2 year old. it was miserable and I still have scars 17 years later. Heard later that it can be fatal to adults. I said if I had known that I would have hollered louder. Not that I wasnt hollering enough. ;)

:wave2: I inspired a thread!!!! Yay!! :thumbsup2

I've had chicken pox (when I was about six -- missed out on sledding) and now the mumps.

BTW: I can feel my jaw again and I managed to eat a Hot Pocket. Yay mumps! I can't wait until tomorrow when I have this germy house all to my contagious self and I can veg and watch Maury Povich and Easter candy!!

DF,DM and myself were in Maryland visiting my aunt for a weekend when it was the summer before 1st grade. I had to be taken to the hospital up there and was dianosed with the pox. So, we cut the visit short got in the Gremlin to go back home and the only good thing that came out of it was I had plenty of time to practice tying my shoelaces. Calamine Lotion-got to love it.

I had chicken pox as an adult and it was awful. I caught it from DS who sailed right through but I was SO sick.

I had German measles when I was about 9. I remember being very ill and hallucinating from the high fever.

I'v had the Chicken Pox and the Mumps. I don't recall having Rubella, but my prental bloodwork came back immune.

As far as the others, I don't think I've had them. I'll have to ask my Mom!

There were six kids in my family and when one got the mumps-we all did. Same thing with the chicken pox.
I have a whole new appreciation for my Mom.

Same here. Family of 5, 2 years apart, grew up in the 50s and 60s, so if I didn't have something, I was exposed to it. I also had all of my titers checked, and have immunity to all childhood diseases.

DD had chicken pox, DS had the vaccine.

When I was expecting Alice they did bloodwork and found I was not vaccinated for Rubella and that it would be deadly for her if I got it somehow.

I went home and looked over my vaccination records and I had not one, but two shots for it.

I guess they didn't take so about 2 hours after I delivered I was vaccinated again...I wonder if the new one took?

I got the chicken pox from my little brother when I was in the 2nd grade. He barely had them, but I had a terrible case, I even had them in my throat!

I had measles when I was young but not sure what kind. I have either a natural immunity to chicken pox or had a slight case, my brothers & sisters had them and my oldest DD but I never have even with the exposure. Same with mumps my brothers & sisters had it but I didn't, my kids have the vaccine for that so hopefully we won't be exposed.

I had the Measles, Mumps and Chicken Pox one right after the other when I was in first grade.

I've only had chicken pox...a very mild case of them when I was about 12...I know I stayed home from school, but I don't remember being miserable or anything. Pretty sure I got the MMR when I was real little.

Never had any of those, thank goodness! Hope anyone who has the mumps right now gets well soon! :thumbsup2

I had the chicken pox twice. First was when I was young and was a very mild case. The next time I was in the 5th grade and it was horrible. The second time I had them, my brother and my mother had them as the same time. Yuck!

I am 53 and had chicken pox in kindergarten and gave them to my grandfather-he was really sick. Had the measels in first grade and the mumps in the 7th grade--right side one week and the left side the next. My 3 DD had the measels when they were 10. 9 and 6 yrs. - all one wk apart. I hope any one how has the mumps get well soon.
