I have a porcelain sink & can't get rid of the silver/gray marks left behind by my pots. I've tried comet & SOS pads w/ no luck. Any ideas? Thx!

Are you really my alias? :confused3 I was just wondering the same thing this morning as I was cleaning my sink, but I don't remember this alias and I sure don't remember posting it. :rotfl2:

I hope that you--we, get some answers. Maybe the Mr Clean Eraser would help get the stains out. My tag says that I love mine.

I have this problem too. I usally scrub it with comet, wash it out scrub some more. They usually don't come out at first but get lighter every time you do it.

Have you tried Magic Eraser? If not, try Bar Keepers Friend.

I have had good luck using a couple different things. ONe is the clorox (sp?) bleach pen cover the stain and leave it for 10 min then rinse off. If that doesnt work I use comet on the sink that usually gets rid of the stain. I usually follow this by filling the sink with bleach water and leaving it for 10 min or so.

I just tried the Mr Clean pads and I do think that it helped. It seems that the sinks scratch so easily and mine has lots of scratches. I assume that they can be refinished, but if so I don't know how expensive that it.

Bleach doesn't seem to help with mine.

I've figured out how to get the marks out of my sink--REPLACE IT!

I hate this sink. I can't wait to get back to stainless steel.

I have a big old porcelain kitchen sink that I love. I would be careful with Comet etc as it may scratch the porcelain. I usually use Soft scrub and then let it sit on the stain for a 1/2 hour or so and then rinse. It usually takes the gray marks out. I tried the Mr. Clean Eraser but it didn't work for me. :confused3

When we redid our kitchen we put in a new porcelain sink and within days we started getting the sliver scratches. I called the manufacturer of the sink and they told me to you have to purchase a special cleaner for it. I don't remember the name of it because we have since moved and I have stainless now, but it was like a miracle. You just rubbed it on the spot and it was gone.
I got it at home depot or lowes in the cleaning section. It is in a metal square can, and it has a pink background with writting on it. Ask someone that works there and they should be able to help you out. Oh and make sure you open a window when you do it, it does smell. Good luck!

I used Tilex mold and mildew the other day to spray on and lighten an unbleached lampshade.( don't ask) I did it in the kitchen sink and the sink looks great!!! I would also suggest one of those flat rack type thing that fits in the bottom of the sink. It prevents pots from rubbing on the bottom of the sink and it comes coated with that rubbery type of dish rack coating. BTW....The lampshade also came out great! :teeth:
