I think honeywolf new romance is great for her.
Is anyone dating (or has anyone dated) outside your race?

How was it looked upon by friends, family co workers etc?

I have in the past dated outside my race (RAT RACE that is ;) ) and was never aware of anyone’s comments

Well, my roommate met him yesterday and the only thing she had to say after he left was "He's cute." My mom doesn't have a problem with interracial dating (the age difference is a slightly different story.) The rest of my friends have always been cool with it.

My DH is Puerto Rican. We really haven't encountered any problems at all and we've been married 12 years.

I dated a black guy about 10 years ago and even though I was determined to make it work, it seems that fate had a few things in mind for me. Alas it didnt work out and I realize now that had my parents known at the time, our relationship would have been scarred. But during the relationship, I felt awful sneaking around. So in a way I was releived when it ended.

I wouldnt have any problems dating outside of my race now either. Love is love, period. And I think my parents would be more accepting now too.

I got married at 21 so I didn't date very many people at all & I didn't date anyone outside of my race, but I would. I don't see it as a problem.
honeywolf7 - I don't know what the age difference between you is but my in-laws are 22 years apart & they've been married for 38 years:D

It's only 12 years but my mom thinks that makes a pretty big difference at 26 and 38.

I didn't, but would have if I was asked by someone I liked

Been married to different race for 2 years (I'm Puerto Rican)

I didn't date much. The guys that asked me out were of my race (I didn't accept all dates though-blondes and I just don't get along) and I wasn't one to ask a guy out on a date (that's one of the few ways that I'm old fashioned;) ). All my nieces and nephews on my side of the family are of a mixed race.

Swirls in ice cream cones are nice. Not in children. I think that in most cases interracial children face problems. So, to avoid that (unless one of you is sterile) the best thing is not to date people of other races.

Good thing my ancestors didn't feel the way you did, Carl.:) I have English blood and Cherokee blood and several inbetween.;)

Here is the breakdown of a full blooded Puerto Rican.

The child can come out to look:

Chinese, American, Native American, Black, Spaniard, Pacific Islander.

Puerto Ricans are so mixed that we decided to create our own race :teeth:

I don't think we have any problems.

I think we are all mixed as it is. Go back to that thread of the different nationalities that we all are. We are mixed.

I agree....we are all mixed. Personally, I don't plan to have any more children (two is perfect for me) and neither does he (four is definitely enough for him) so that doesn't really even come into the equation but even if we did want more kids and if I loved him (which I'm not ready to say I do...I'm taking things slowly) I'd still follow my heart.

I haven't but if I had the opportunity I would have.

My BIL is black and I know my MIL had a huge issue at first. But hey--guess what---she finally figured out what's on the inside counts more than the outside :)

I disagree, Carl.
And, thankfully, my boys haven't faced any racial prejudice at all.

I've dated out of my ethnicity. I dated an armenian guy ( who is the father of the girl I had) and I've dated quite a few hipsanic guys...and a few african american guys. :)

I have dated men of several different races & it's never remotely been an issue. We were raised with the belief that we are all one race - The Human Race
I am looking forward to the day, when everyone realizes that...Call me optimistic, but a girl can Dream, can't she?

actually, i'm not.

i have dated outside of my ethnicity. it's a non-issue for me.

carl, i think swirls are beautiful, especially in people. Tyson Beckford, Keanu Reeves, Dean Cain, Mark Paul Gosselaar, Shannon Elizabeth, Jessica Alba, Frankie Muniz, Raquel Welch, Enrique Iglesias, Christy Turlington, Vin Diesel, Halle Berry and Kama's own Apolo Ohno are all of mixed descent. i don't see anyone complaining about them...
