Inspired by Hersheys Miniature question....In a bag of mixed nuts

which are your favorites? Mine in order are Filberts, Almonds, Pecans, Brazil Nuts (I love the taste but have a hard time getting them out of the shell sometimes), and I like walnuts the least.

I like them all and have the same problem with the Brazil nuts. (I usually give up on them.) Almonds are my favorite.

BTW, I recently found UNSHELLED Brazil nuts in the store. I'd never seen them sold like that before.

Brazil nuts are my fav. Becki, if you heat up a pan with a little bit of oil (teaspoon or so) and put the nuts in there for a couple of minutes, when you crack them open, those babies will just slide right on out.

But I like Catsrule answer too.

It should work with all nuts, Becki. You don't have to get the water to boiling, just warm enough to heat up the natural oils in the nuts to lift them off their shell a little bit (I usually put them on medium heat for about 5 minutes or so). You may not need to put oil in the pan, but I read to do it and it works, so I add the oil.
