Inspired by glo - crunches ?

This is a silly question, but are crunches kind of like a partial sit-up? Is it possible to do some sort of abdominal exercise while sitting at a desk all day long? My abs definitely need help.
I'm so impressed that glo can do 300 crunches. She inspired me to get busy with WATP, so now I want to add crunches.:D
 
She is an inspiration. She got me doing crunches. I am up to 125 a day.
 
crunches are partial sit-ups. You try to lift your chest uo towars your knees, but you want to keep your chin off your chest and looking stright uo. The best for your arm are crossed over your chest. Does that make any sense? I go up for two hold it for two or three and down for two, without letting my shoulders go all the way down to the floor.

I do 4 different variations of crunches to get my upper and lower abs, plus those side love handles :) I am glad I inspired you. I just wish they would show faster!
 
NancyK, I suspect you could "suck it in" and hold it for a few seconds while sitting. Try sitting straight up in your chair, and use your abdominals to pull your shoulders toward your desk. You won't really move very far, but it works the lower abdominals a bit. I do it a lot while sitting at the keyboard...NOW, for instance. ;)
 

the trainer at the gym said you can do isometric exercises. Sit straight in your chair...now suck in your stomack, tighten your back end and tilt the pelvic area forward...hold for a count of 30 and let go for ten and repeat. It really burns there if you hold it :) I figure it sure can't hurt :)
 
Thanks everyone. I'm going to try those desk exercises. Luckily no one works near me, so they won't notice.;)
