Yep, I took my "bone" pillow. I can't sleep without it. I also have a down pillow that I like to slepp with between my knees, but I usually leave that at home.
I bring my "top" pillow that goes over my head if I go for moreo than a weekend trip. My head is sandwiched between the top and bottom pillows, but I look to the side, so I don't suffocate! That top pillow is just the right smooshy-ness!

Too funny. I've got the top pillow also. I think it's a carry over from childhood. I was hiding from the monsters. Hopefully, Frankenstein (who everyone knows was a little dense) would think my bed was empty and kill my brother instead.
I bring my body pillow which goes on between my knees and my flat (pretty much nonexistent) huggie pillow for my arms. Then I need 2 extra pillows for my head although at hotels I can get by with one since they're usually so fluffy anyway.
Yep, I'm a pillow hugger. At home I HAVE TO HAVE 4 pillows. Two under my head, one to hug and one between my knees. When we go on vacation, my hubby gets one pillow because I steal the rest. I usually bring my top pillow from home for longer trips. I am a fanatic about my pillows when I sleep. My DH laughs at me because I once almost slugged him in my sleep because he accidentally grabbed my huggie pillow. He said I YANKED it away from him, drew back, then flipped over. heh. DON'T touch my pillow darn it!
I can only sleep when I have a body pillow to hug. I've been worried about our upcoming trip because I can't bring my pillow. We're flying. But, do you think I could bring one and check it in with our luggage?
Absolutely. I do! I fold mine in have and stuff it in a duffle bag. You should see the ticket counter agent's face when she picked up the bag. She thought it was heavy because it looked really big and clunky. She about fell off the scale cause it was so light! All it had was a body pillow, blankies, noodles and a fan!
When I drive, I have to have my own pillows - all 3. But when we fly, it is not feasible to pack a extra large suitcase to hold 1 standard and 2 king size pillows.
I take my pillow with me. Most airlines let you check two large suitcases and allow at least one carry on (and a purse). Every member of your party gets that same allowance--even kids. So, that means for me, my dh and my dd, we can check 6 large suitcases. Believe me, that is enough room for me to have one whole suitcase just for my pillow, if I want. Even when we stay for 14 nights we don't need 6 large suitcases and our three carryons just for clothes! Dh laughs at me for bringing the "extra" suitcase, but I usually throw away the pillow before we leave the hotel and bring back that suitcase full of souvenirs (or dirty laundry LOL). Actually, we pack kind of strangely, I guess. I usually designate one whole suitcase to pack all of our coats and shoes. I hate putting shoes in with my clean clothes!
I have also used a soft sided duffel to hold the pillow, and it returns full of stuffed animals so have seen that look on the baggage handlers who expect it to be heavy when it is light as a feather!
I have never found the logistics a problem. All the airports have either self-rental carts for luggage, or you can use the baggage handlers. Either way has never been a hassle for us. I can't carry two suitcases and my purse, and carryon, so it really doesn't matter if we have 6 or three, you know? Either way we will be using a cart or paying a skycap.

I always take my pillows with me. Even when I go to the Rescue Squad to pull my standby I take at least one pillow and we are only there for 12 hours usually during the day. I have to have my hugger pillow when I travel. Otherwise I can't sleep. And I have also about slugged my hubby over my hugger pillow. He will steal it in the middle of the night and I just have to take it take it back by an means and any force nessecary.
I don't know why, but it has never donned on me to request more pillows. *smacks forehead!* I just check all of the drawers and lo and behold if there happens to be an extra pillow in one of them I literally feel like I've just won the lottery.
