Did you pass your driving test on the first try? I did. I was TERRIFIED the day I went in for it because there was this lady who did the tests there that was reffered to as the "Dragon lady." Rumor had it that she failed everyone on their first try. Before taking the test I practiced driving the course. I ended up passing with a 92!! I was SOOOOO happy! :teeth:

No, but I passed the second time with the same state trooper!

Yep, both written and driving tests.

Yep. The guy that drove with me - he didn't even bring the clipboard. Just got in, reclined the seat a little, and said, "Okay, let's go." Leaned back, whistled the whole time, only interrupting himself to say, "Eh...why don't we turn right up here." He just had me go around in a circle and that was it. Went back, he checked everything off and said, "Congratulations."

You passed the WRITTEN test the first time???? I took it three times before I passed. It was a nightmare! :furious:

I took driver's ed in high school. I passed that, got a blue certificate, and along with my birth certificate when I was 15 years and 10 months I was able to obtain a driver's license at the DMV. Well technically, it was a permit for 60 days.

Yup. 100 on the written, 95 on the road test. The only thing on the road test I lost points for was backing up. I was petrified taking the test; it was the day after an ice storm, and it was the day before laws were changing so if I didn't pass I'd be under a whole new set of laws that I did not want to be under.

I also passed both the written and the driving test on the first try. I remember being so mad at my Mom the day I passed the driving test. She wouldn't let me take to the car to school for the rest of the day.

Nope. :rolleyes1

I failed the written and driving test the first time. The driving test was a nightmare. I couldn't make a three point turn in my parents big boat of a car and I "accidentally" stopped on a rail road track.

yep, I did. I was nervous about 2 things. first, my father had me do some practice driving prior to the test. I almost got into an accident, not my fault, totally the other person's fault but it scared the pants off of me (not to mention I used some rather colorful language as I slammed on the breaks...stuff I certainly had never said around dad before. thankfully he just complimented me on my response to the situation). the second thing I was worried about was parking. I could parallel park, I could reverse in a line, do the 3 point turn, you name it, but for some reason parking in parking lots made me nervous and it would take me a number of tries before I landed in the space.

long story short, the test went fine, then we headed back to the dmv parking lot. I think I started sweating, but as we turned the corner I saw it...the perfect spot. it was the first spot, at an angle, literally, all I had to do was turn into the parking lot and coast right into the spot. phew!

I live in the Northeast, and the winter I got my liscense was a particularly bad one. The first 5 times I was scheduled for my road test there were ice or snow storms. I ended up having to reschedule my test at the registry in a town I had never driven in before. I was so terrified, and as I was driving back to the registry I may have accidently cut someone off. Oops. Apparently state troopers generally frown on students cutting off other drivers whilst on the road test, and I was informed that I need a little more fine tuning before I could pass. I was devastated, but a few weeks later I passed on my second try with the same trooper.
