Did you move back home? Did you get married? Did you go right out and start a job? What?

I was working my way thru college in the bakery department which I kept doing the next year after graduation as I planned my wedding. I never did move back home.......my apartment became home.:D

I spent the summer bumming around, then I went into the Air Force!!!

The first year after graduating high school, I lived at home and worked as a camp counselor/recreation director that summer. When that camp season ended, I continued to live at home and got jobs working days at a hardware and evenings as a waitress.

The next year I got married and immediately moved 650 miles away from "home" and began attending college with my husband.

When I graduated college, I had a job with a Big Six accounting firm! I was lucky!

Waitressed! Then about 6 mos later got a job w/ the state of PA as a caseworker for welfare. Figured I'd do that till I'd figure out what I WANTED to do. 10 yrs later...still w/ the state, still figuring out what I want to do!

I first got an Associate's degree and got a job as a payroll clerk (then promoted to sr. payroll clerk) at one of our state colleges. I worked there 1 year, then went back to college to get my BS. I then returned to the same state college to work and went back to the same office, this time as a personnel assistant, as a bachelor's degree was required for that job. I stayed there for 5 more years until DD was born and I became a SAHM.

I got a corporate job for a few years until I decided corp. world was not for me and went back to school for my masters.
I lived at home while I was getting my MFT degree but still worked part-time (enough to get benefits). Yes, I will be paying off my school loans for the rest of my life...

I had an apartment off campus that i was paying for. Well, about 3 years into school, I started adding up all the debt I had accrued from room and board fees. :earseek: WOW!!! It was high. Then, I looked at what I was doing. I wanted to be a social worker which at the minimum I need my masters. SO I realized how much it would cost to get my masters:earseek: :earseek: !!! Then, oi stopped..waitressed and talk to BF (now DH) about what I wanted to do. We moved in together to save money, and we both worked to pay our loans off.

I got a job as a leasing consultant, the assistnat manager, then SAHM! Now, I am never going back (I hope!) I love what I do.

DH's story is MUCH more complicated, but no niether of us moved back home once we left for college.

I got a full time job right after high school and stayed living at my parents house until I was 23. This worked well as I was able to save quite a bit of money, which in turn helped DH & I to buy our dream house. :D

After college I moved back in with my parents and started working full time at Walgreens headquarters in their advertising department. I ended up staying with Walgreens almost 12 years. DH and I got engaged soon after college and I lived at home until our wedding 2 years after college. I was able to save a ton of money living at home so we were able to have a great wedding and honeymoon, as well as a downpayment for a house. It worked well for us.

I went straight into a doctoral program. If I could redo my life, I don't think I would make the same decision.

I moved off campus into a two bedroom apt with 3 other girls my senior year. I knew I would be graduating mid-year (a month after I turned 21) and would be poor! I substitute taught starting in January. When summer hit I moved home for a few months and took a few classes, but moved again to start working in the late summer. I didn't start teaching right away or walk into the perfect job, but I always worked and lived on my own (or with roommates). Jobs were scarce in the early 80's in my area and I don't think anyone I knew expected it to be easy.

Most of the kids I knew took several years to settle into something permanant after graduation.

I bummed around for 2 months, enjoying my "freedom" until my Mom reminded me that my car insurance was due the first of September and she wasn't going to pay for it anymore.

That's when I did this face:  and immediately went out and got a job!

She ended up paying the 6 month premium for me anyway, the sweetheart that she is!

I lived at home and worked for a lawyer for a year. Then got married and dh and I moved to NY. I worked for another lawyer in NY for about a year and a half until DD was born. Then I became a SAHM.

I got a job in my field, a small apartment, and two kitty cats. Then I got married a year after graduation (and three weeks after DH's!) DH went immediately into the Air Force following our honeymoon.

Work........work.......work............work.........Boy am I tired of that!! and retirement can't come too soon.

I got married and then started law school. I just finished lawschool last year and then had DS last summer. I've been busy since graduating from college. ;)

I went full-time as a customer service rep at the bank I had worked at during college summer breaks. I moved back home and saved money for my wedding. After about 3 months at the bank, I found a job in my chosen career field (marketing).
