Just sent a thanks to Dan for another random act of kindness and thought I should post this in honor of him and all those others that, daily, help us on the Dis. His sig. reads; Random acts of kindness, no matter how small, are never really lost. They live forever in the hearts of those who are fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of them.

Did you know the week of Nov. 10th - 16th is World Kindness Week? I told my family tonight at dinner that each of us is to pick a person and a kindness and we will fulfill it that week. Hope you join me in this challenge. Nancy

When Marie made that quote here on the DIS some 18 or so months ago, it really hit me as to how true that is, mom42860. I was unaware of World Kindness Week, a great idea that is. Start with a week, make it a lifestyle.

I hate being nice

yeah right!

Anyway, I try to do something nice everyday, I don't always succeed, but I try.

I've been thinking about this the last few days. It bothers me that I don't often tell the people that mean something to me how much I appreciate them. I don't know why, I feel spooked just thinking about it but I'm going to try to do a better job. You just truly never know.

As for being kind, I agree. I will also try to do a better job of being kind to people both those I know and those I don't.

I smile at everybody, doesn't matter if I don't know them I still smile. It's like a challange, to see if they will smile back or not.

However there are some people who no matter how much you smile, they will either ignore you or just turn away.

We have been teaching DD (5) the importance of kindness. This week at WDW she found glow bracelets and necklaces in her room. The housekeeping staff told her she thinks they came from tinker bell. DD has been sharing her present with other children. While waiting for parades or shows at night, she will share them with children sitting around us. Most people were shocked. DD loved it. She had so much fun sharing.

She would ask the parent if the child would be allowed to have one and if they said yes, then she would ask the child what color. (She had them on her wrist)

Priceless lesson!

I've always tried to practice random acts of kindness -- perhaps because I've been so lucky in my life that I've had so many back in kind. :sunny:

Kindness is a very important part of life, unfortuneately there are many in this world who have forgotten what kindness is. I always try to be kind or do a good deed for I believe what goes around comes around.

PS

I forgot to add.....

I didn't realize it was World Kindness Week, thanks for letting us know.

Maybe that is why so many wonderful things have happenned this trip.
