Inspired by Crazelion -- Anyone NOT have a college degree?

No college for me, but I hope to one day.

I'm working on it at 44. A month after high school I was in hairdressing school. Got bored in that field. Went back to a 2 year business school. That was okay, but secretaries don't make enough money. So here I am YEARS later in school again for a degree...in what?! Part of me wants to teach more or less, the other part wants something with a decent salary. I should have done this 25 years ago, but our parents weren't sending us. :( I really regret not going before.

Wanted to go but, didn't. :(

Had good jobs that I enjoyed though and, I have a good background if I ever go back to working. SAHM for 5 years now. :)

None for me either. I may attend some classes in the future, but I'm more interrested in just taking a few classes that interest me rather than going for a degree.

Not yet but at age 26 I just started working towards an Associate Degree in Nursing. I was a Biology Major after high school but did not finish. I have many of the pre reqs so I should be completely by next December.

Not Il I was self financiang college, while working full time... going to classes, and THEN working 6-8 hours a day after classes, and then squeezing homework in whenever.

I liked school was good at it, and will return.

I got married at 20, had kids young, and so I don't think I did a bad choice. I am now 32, and will go back for my bachelors degree someday soon.

Like some other poster, I am torn on what to do. I would love to finish up for teaching, but the pay is fairly lousy until you get a Masters Degree. I am an executive secretary/office manager, and a good one at that... Executive secretary/office managers in Philadelphia can make up to mid to high 40's with no degree.--that is starting, experienced ones with many skills can get into the 50's!

Sad to say the starting teaching salary here in my district is in the 30's!

I started College in Spain, then I took one year absence to come here and I never went back. I have considered though to go back oneday to nursing school, I would like to do this but at this time is more important to me to take care of my family, I still work part-time and next year I hope to get something in school so I can stay home with my children on snow days and vacations, I have no family who can watch them when I work and paying daycare or after school care is just not worth it, half of my salary would go for that. So maybe someday I will finish.
