Inspired by certain smilies

Whenever I see someone respond to a thread that they don't agree with and that person puts the "roll eyes" smilie in their thread, it really aggravates me. That smilie, in my opinion, is perhaps the most obnoxious one in the bunch. To me, it equates to the responder calling the OP an idiot or similar.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Why does it bother you so? I don't think I've ever used the rolling eyes smiling in reference to another poster. When I do use it, it's usually in reference to DH.

I agree. The only time I ever use that one is when I am referring to stupid things that I have done myself.

I dont use it when referring to others. But I just used it to talk about my own family and it fit perfectly!

I have never used the alien one. I would like to use that at some point!LOL!

But I have seen people use it rudely and i know what you are talking about!

It bothers me because it is extremely rude. I have seen it used very often on the DIS and I think it is just uncalled for. Using it in your own post is fine.

Seriously, I think some of the posters know each other and they argue about the same subjects over and over, therefore it's like the "same ol', same ol' " and they're used to doing that to each other, that's part of how they communicate. LOL!

But I agree, some people use it to try to be rude.

I like the rolleyes. I find it irritating when someone ends a post with a when it's apparent they're not being friendly with their post.
