Inspired by being a thread highjacker- the OT thread!

Well I will just consider myself lucky then. I have no wacky inlaws to deal with, and although my mother makes me crazy sometimes, shes great. Im taking her to WDW in Sept for her Mother's day gift so we aren't doing anything this sunday. Im spending the day with the sweetpea. Shes decided that what we need to do for Mommy's day is rest all the Harry Potter DVDs and stay in our jammies all day and order pizza when we get hungry. Im hoping to nap.

Now that sounds like a fun mother's day!! I wish DH and I could just stay home and hide.

But, MIL and FIL are taking us out to Red Lobster for dinner. So, that will be nice.

OT- my SIL might not want a baby shower! I totally understand where she's coming from: she doesn't want to be the center of attention, PLUS her family and dh/BIL's family are both huge. It would be a big to-do.

I was like, "But Nic- I already bought a book on throwing baby showers!!" :lmao: I was all excited- I have only been to one baby shower ever. Oh well. She may change her mind. But, I want her to be comfortable, so I'm not going to talk her into it if she doesn't want one. Maybe we can do a mini-shower. Just friends. SMALL.

Give her some time and then see about doing a small thing. Not everyone likes being the center of attention. My friend who I just threw the bridal shower for is like that. But she got over it and had a great time at her shower. And she has another one next week.

Goodnight, Stacerita!

Do a SMALL surprise shower. She won't have time to worry about it. :)

I'm out, too! Goodnight! :)

Ooh, a small surprise shower would be fun! Now, my MIL will have other plans, I'm sure... But, oh well. She'll deal.

Goodnight!

I just wanna say.... buttered popcorn! :yay:

But it's 2:30am so i am just saying it... I'm not having any. :sad2:

I love movie theater popcorn. I worked at a movie theater in high school, and you'd think after 1 1/2 years of working there you'd get sick of popcorn or the smell of it- but NOT me! Yum.

Well, today was my last day of work before I leave for WDW!! :cloud9:

I think I had better call my mom tonight. Find out the plans for Mother's Day. I am willing to bet that she's going to tell me that they (her, step-dad and my brother) are going to go camping and won't even be home.

But, I should call her anyway, I guess. PLUS, she's supposed to take care of my dog while I'm gone, and if she isn't going to do it, I don't know what I'm going to do with Jules. :guilty: I hate the thought of having to board her somewhere, or have her somewhere locked up in a kennel all the time. She's a people-dog.

Well, I was right. Mom said she was going camping because "She hadn't heard anything else...." I wanted to scream "That's because you AREN'T TALKING TO US!!!!"

But, I didn't.

Instead I offered to make a lasagna and a salad and bring it over for lunch. She said she'll talk to step-dad and brother and see what they want to do...

I just "Ok, let me know what you want to do." I figure I tried. And I reminded her that either way, I was bringing my dog by on Tuesday, and she said that was fine. So, at least that's covered.

Glad you got Jules all squared away while you are on your trip.

Good luck with your mom.

Ok, I couldn't resist. I had to just do at least one Blogthing today. I should have just said no. I think I might have done something wrong here though.

Ok. Raise your hand if you'd like to hear what a gigantic MORON I am.....

I'm gonna assume everyone has their hand raised.

Ok. So, that wake I had to go to tonight- totally NOT for Mark's friend's dad. It was for his AUNT'S DAD. I didn't realize this until I was in the freakin funeral home.

Why? Because his friend and his aunt are both named Lori, and no one specified which Lori it was, and for whatever reason, I assumed it was the friend, and then I get there...

Me: "Is Aunt Lori related to friend Lori?"

MIL: "WTH are you talking about?"

Me: "Well, didn't friend Lori's dad die?"

MIL: "um yeah, like 6 years ago... AUnt Lori's dad died!"

Me: "OMG I am a total moron."

ANd last night when I talked to MIL I told her I didn't want to go to the wake because I didn't know Lori that well... :lmao: She said she wondered what I meant by that.... Um, yeah, I guess she would wonder-I have known Mark's aunt for 5 years.

:lmao: This is like a movie scene! Going to the wake and THEN finding out that you know the dead person. :lmao:

OMG Beck, sorry to laugh, but that is too funny. Well, not that funny, but come on, it is. I needed a giggle tonight.

No, by all means: laugh it up. It's classic me!!!

My in-laws will tease me for the next 10 years or so about this one. They were hysterical.

What can I say- I put the FUN in funeral tonight.

You are so funny. You should write...I mean that!

A friend of mine wants to go to WDW for 3-4 days with ME! :dancer: So, we're going! I do this because I'm a good, kind, generous friend who tries to help others.

So, Becky, you don't have to pick me up on your way and have me :crowded: in the backseat.

Does the tag fairy even bother with our thread?

Of course, as I say this, the tag fairy will be tagging me with my funeral quip.

Thanks MW!! I do write a lot; just gotta get my writing out there eventually.

When are you going to WDW? An impromptu trip sounds like fun!! Do you know where you're staying?

And I'm glad you won't be :crowded: in my back seat. I was worried about how that would work out for ya! :rotfl2:
