I got a dozen roses, homemade cards from the kids, went to church (all of us together, no SS for the kids today) went to a nice lunch, had dessert #2 with my mom, (edited to add: got to rock my sweet new one month old nephew for an hour...pure heaven) and got a cute gift certificate from DH. It has Capt. Hook clipart and reads:

First Mate Laura:
As the newest member of our illustrious crew, this coupon entitles you to one free tattoo!

I'm meeting up with some of my bc sistas next month and we're all getting this tatoo (our group is called Sisters In Survivorship) I can't wait! Here it is:

My oldest DD sent me a dozen exotic roses. DH sent me a dozen red roses. DS got me a GC to a favorite restaurant. DH also got me a Meryl Norman Dayspa treatment called the Chocolate Delight. It comes with a chocolate raspberry body scrub, chocolate spa pedicure, and an hour massage. Yummy~ I was treated very well! We stayed home and had my mom down. DH grilled and we played all day in the yard. It was so pretty out today.

My sons sent me flowers and called, my stepson called too. My husband rubbed my feet. :goodvibes

My DH gave me a dozen mixed roses. My dd gave me a home made card and some tulips and then helped me plant the newest members of my garden. That was yesterday. Today I had lunch with my mom.

My eldest DD got me bath goodies...which I LOVE and she knows how much!
My DS is realy sick right now and got me exactly what I asked for, he wrote me a letter, it is so touching, I will cherish it forever.
My youngest DD gave me a cake she won at a church fair, it was absolutely delish!

They all gave me a coupon for one complimentary homemade dinner on the day of my choice. Which I will be happy to redeem!

It was a lovely day. The only thing that would have made it MUCH better is if my DS was feeling better, I am worried because this seems to be the same thing that he had about a month ago. Not sure if it went away and came back (after a round of antibiotics) or if it never really left. Making a drs appt tommorow.

I got:

a kidmade garden stepping stone with small odds and ends in it (including a plastic dinosaur,

A kidmade clay flower pot with a marigold in it,

a kidmade clay picture frame with a pic of Selena with her arms outstretched that says "I love you this much!"

a card that lists reasons why Destiny loves me, which concludes with "Because she buys me orange juice"

a bracelet made from beads that will only fit over two of my fingers and not even close to my wrist

a poem from Brittany that refers to me as a "Gone With the Wind Watching, Coke drinking, sweets eating, people helping, good nursing, Disney coin collecting, me loving mom"

an hour of Olivia falling asleep on me

All in all, an excellent Mother's Day!!

Aw Kristy, I love all of the handmade stuff. It makes me miss when mine were a little bit younger and I always got lots of stuff they made with their hands. Now I really push for letters or cards because I just love getting things that come from the heart.

Glad you had a nice Mothers Day!

I got to do 5 loads of launbdry, a sink full of dishes and a broken vacuum cleaner. We don't really celebrate days liek this in our house. My kids gave me hugs and kisses, but I was up and awake before everyone. We did have my MIL over and we ordered pizza and wings, she bought me a pair of flip flops and a necklace. I saw my Mom yesterday and I'll stop by and see her again on Tuesday. I get 2 days off from work and today was one of them so I had to do all the stuff I would normally do on a day off. If not then I'd be doubling up on Tuesday...and since we are having glass block windows put in on Tuesday my basement (and laundry) will be off limits for a bit.

My son and his wife sent me a miniature rose in a decorative container.

I got a pair of Crocs from DH (little early) and one big beer, a plant in a bag with the the label,
"You give me love, and help me grow.
And, here's a plant to let you know, For all you do and all you say,
I love you.
Happy Mother's Day."
plus a plant jounal of it's growth progress from DD. We also had a very fun day yeaterday of going to the park, walking around the neighborhood, playing in the sprinklers and having fun yesterday. DS gave me totally handmade card, with a creative twist, he's good at making little "pop-up" things on cards, signed in a very fun, personal way. I also caught a couple fish today..one of which was worth eating.

DD11 gave me a Hershey's Special Dark bar (bought with her own money) and a thoughtful home-made card. DD5 gave me a card made at school and an African violet that DD11 helped her pick out. DS13 WANTED to give me a tree, which I had said would be a good present if anyone was looking for ideas, but... well you can guess what happened based on the thread that inspired this one. DS felt really bad. All three kids expressed their appreciation to me as a mother.

I got cards from DH, and kids....cat too!

DH let me pick out some new workout clothes from the Jazzercise site. THey should be here any day. And my DD-14 got me some beautiful roses.

We were going out to Olive Garden for dinner, but because my IL's came in the nite before, and FIL is having continence (sp?) issues, we thought it better to stay home and order chinese.

It was an okay day....

I got breakfast in bed...

many beautiful treasures

My Daughter made a flower pen at school with fake floweres and floral tape, and it looks like a budding flower, many cards/pictures and a fun fill in the blank thing. I especially liked this one.... My Mom is smart because...she knows how to control 6th graders! (that made me laugh)

My son had some very fun cards, a flower vase made out of a water bottle and tissue paper and a paper tissue flower, plus some great cards.

My DH, its a hard day for him because he lost his mom passing away.

But on Saturday, I went to the Apple store with my DH. I wound up taking home a 30 G Photo with a generous educational discount.

I got an iPod! DD helped DH pick it out so she got the pink one. We were out of town until late last night so I haven't had a chance to do anything with it.

DH and 9 yo DD woke up early to make me breakfast in bed -- pancakes (a little burnt, but tasted great because I was in bed :goodvibes ). DD gave me a handmade card with a beautiful poem she wrote & a handmade book.

14 yo DS did get me something, but DH lost it and I didn't get it yet so I don't know what it is. However, DS (who is ADHD/bipolar) was on really great behavior all day and had a very nice attitude, so that was worth more than 100 presents :flower:

DH -- just as a little disclaimer, he's going through some kind of depression or really bad stress so I'm not taking this too personally. Anyway, I'd asked him a while ago not to spend very much money on me and if he wanted to get me something, to get me something related to our upcoming trip and I'd be totally thrilled. You know what he got me? A book of Christian humor entitled Laughing Out Loud: A Collection of Heavenly Humor

Um. I'm an atheist! So, alrighty then! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh, and also we went to my favorite Japanese teppanyaki restaurant. Yummy.

I got a gift certificate for a manicure and a pedicure. I asked for new patio furniture, but this is good too!!!!

I got...

to sleep in.... oh it was great!!!

cards from all three kiddos and hub too!

lots of hugs/kisses/cuddles

kidmade picture frame including photo of my little guy!

2 kidmade pots with flowers for planting in my garden

and the thing i get every mothers day... which i love,
all the flowers/hanging baskets/veggies etc for our flower beds and garden.
And dh helped me get it all done! We were both worn out by the end of sat nite, so we spent sunday relaxing!

Ooooh and i got to play in the sand box with my dd! It was great! Reminded me how much I love being a mom!

At school DD made me an envelope (all decorated) with a card that says everything she likes about me. Of course at the top of the list was that I take her Disney World. :rotfl: That's my girl!!! She also made me a book mark and they planted a flower in a cup that she brought home.

On the envelope she had added "Dad" on the side that had who it is from. Poor kid didn't want Dad to get in trouble for not getting me anything. Sorry it didn't work!!!!!! :sad2:

It was a beautiful day and I had a great time spending time with my DD not really doing anything.

DD is living with her dad right now so we had decided to celebrate Mother's Day in June when she's home. She did tell me she'd mailed me something and she's very excited about whatever it is so I should be receiving that any day now. :teeth:

DH bought me The Gilmore Girls Third Season dvds which is what I really wanted. He made me breakfast yesterday morning, too. I'd had a really busy day on Saturday so I spent most of Sunday lying around reading and thoroughly enjoying myself. My mom came over for dinner--I made ham, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes & gravy, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. I gave her gift certificates to the movie theatre--her favorite gift.

It was really a nice day.

Along with some cherished homemade cards, I got a spa day! :) My BIL and my DH always go and get them together, and my sister and I make a day of it. :) This one is for a facial, massage, pedicure and manicure. Can't wait.

DH also cooked out yesterday -- it was a beautiful day in D.C. Afterwards we went out and saw Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy -- great movie! All in all, a really good day. :sunny:
