Just wondering has anyone stayed at WDW or off site resorts during Christmas?

I was just thinking about it do you put up a tree? How do you handle Santa if the kids are little? Do you have presents on Christmas morning? I mean you would just have to ship all that stuff home so how does it work?

I am not planning on doing it but I have often thought about it and saw a post on another board and just wondered.

I have not stayed at a resort for Christmas, but it's my understanding that at WDW resorts you can arrange for a tree in your room.

Darn it--I had a long reply all typed up and then hit something weird and lost it. :teeth:

We spent two weeks at the Dolphin for Christmas 2004. It was a lot of fun but I don't think we'd do it again--mainly because the crowds were unbearable for EVERYTHING. It was nice having two weeks there though--we didn't have to worry so much if things were too crowded, we could catch it another time.

DD was 14 at the time so we didn't have the whole Santa issue. I didn't get a tree for the room because they were really expensive. The trip was our Christmas gift so we weren't going to exchange a lot of gifts but I ended up getting dd a bunch of souvenir type things to open while we were there so she ended up with a lot of gifts. :teeth: I always bring an extra suitcase for souvenirsanyway so it wasn't a big deal.

The Dolphin had a lot of fun things for kids at Christmas--you could have an elf tuck your kids in and they had little doorkeys to hang on your doorknob so Santa could get into your room. The decorations at the resorts were beautiful.

We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's on Christmas morning which was a blast. It was cold and rainy that day--I'd decided on a non-parkday anyway so we headed to DTD to see a movie. I think everyone had the same idea because of the weather, though, so we gave up on that when we saw the lines. We went back to our room with some fresh popped microwave popcorn from Tubbi's and rented Princess Diaries 2 on pay per view. It was really a very fun and relaxing Christmas Day.

The only way I'd do it again is if we could stay for the two weeks again.
