What do you have on your floors in the kitchen and bath and what do you like and dislike about it?

I've got vinyl in both rooms. In the bathroom it's one sheet. It was what we could afford at the time, but I'd not impressed with it.
In the kitchen we have vinyl tiles. It's ok, but it's getting messed up.
I have all kinds of traffic going through here. Kids, dogs, people dropping things, so I need something durable.

We have ceramic tile in our bathrooms, which is great. Our kitchen has the vinyl tiles which I HATE with a passion! When we had our house built a little over 2 years ago, we figured we'd save some money by not upgrading to ceramic and waiting a few years to change it. That is one of my biggest regrets! I wish we just had it done at the time we bought the house. I'm already looking around and trying to replace the vinyl. It's probably just the kind we got, but it always looks dirty, dirt sticks in the seams and the seams have actually pulled apart in some areas. I have noticed it in the other houses in the development also (But would never say anything to them :teeth: )

I've been thinking about changing my flooring, too, so I'm always reading these types of threads! I have vinyl flooring in my kitchen and in my foyer, but they are different kinds. For some reason, the kitchen floor looks wonderful. Very glossy and easy to clean. However, my foyer floor has no sheen to it and it is hard to keep clean. I suspect that the previous owner put some sort of wax on it, but I don't know for sure. Plus, my dog puts little scratches in it with her claws, but there are no scratches on my kitchen floor. It's weird. Also, my sister has vinyl in her bathroom and it has had a bit of a stickiness to it since day one, which you can only feel when you are in bare feet. So, even though I love my kitchen vinyl, I've eliminated it from my choices for new flooring.

I have ceramic in the bathroom and porcelain in the kitchen, I love both!!
