VHS/BETA
Sony Walkman (the MP3 predessor)
CD's began making an appearance
and last but not least EPCOT (before it became Epcot) opened in the 80's ( I beleive it was 83 or 84)

This is great thanks for taking us down memory lane

I graduated from high school in 1984 - so yes that makes me 40 this year.
I went to college in the 80's and it was a great time to go to a party school (which I proudly did) and did many things I am not proud of now.

Did anyone else wear bright blue eyeliner with frosty lipstick and pearlescent nailpolish? It did go great with my pink day glow short shorts and tank top. A favorite going out to party outfit was my white leather mini-skirt with pink satin halter top. My big hair would be banana clipped up high or pouffed out really big - or maybe crimped - yikes! A short little pair of boots went right along with nicely.

Dancing to my favorite 80's tunes by The English Beat, the Go Go's, Adam Ant, Duran Duran, Wham, Madonna, Depeche Mode, Echo and the Bunnymen, Squeeze and INXS to name a few.

I was a clove smoking, day glow wearing, big hearing bouncing, dancing fool. I still miss the 80's sometimes!

how about those silver coats???
parachute pants
juke box hero

"we party till the night is through, were the class of 82"
dh's yearbook--

"were as rowdy as can be, were the class of 83"
"beer is legal, sex is free, were the class of 83"
my yearbook--

:rotfl2: my favorite outfit, jeans, tight at the leg, high heel shoes, white shirt pencil thin black (also had assorted colors) tie and a jacket that had big shoulder pads .....banana clips in my hair....... :rotfl2:

I miss the big hair.

Valley Girl.

Around here, the preppies usually wore no socks with their docksiders, and the collars were turned up.

Breakdancin.

I would love if The Police every got back together. U2's best albums (War, Under a Blood Red Sky, Joshua Tree etc...).

Micheal Jackson was still black!

When Princess Diana, who was also Lady Di in 1980-81 came on the scene, the trend of feathered hair, blue eyeshadow, pink cheeks, frilly shirts that buttoned up to the neck that you wore with dark jeans and high boots came into style big time! I can't believe I went to school like that!

I was class of 87, this means my *20th* reunion is next year- AAAHHHHH!!!

How about Frankie Say Relax t shirts? I owned one.

I *hated* banana clips, only because my hair was too thin for them and I SOOOO wanted to wear them! :rotfl2:

Has anyone watched the "I love the 80's" series on VH1. I LOVE them. There's 3 series now, total of 30 episodes! I could watch them over and over and over.

I was also guilty of wearing
Guess jeans
Esprit
Outback Red shirts from The Limited were popular
Liz Clainbourne purses
The Cure!!

Judy's store in the Mall. There was another one too.
My favorite was a hot pink, t-shirt material dress with a DEEP V-back.

Did anyone say knickers? I had some beautiful purple cordoroy ones!

Two Polo Shirts worn together with some form of pants with the same color in them (or two pairs of scrunchie socks that matched the shirts)

A PURPLE comb in the back pocket of the Jordasche.

"wrestling" sneakers ( I think they are popular again?????)

Kangaroos

There was also ZZTop

Lacey baby socks worn with your pointy high heels - usually plastic! :rotfl2:

The Preppy look with the collar of your shirt up, not laying down.
Silver shoes-that's coming back I guess.
Talking like a Valley Girl.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Square Pegs

:rotfl2: Knickers with argyle socks and a matching argyle sweater vest. Did anyone carry one of those purses with the wood handle that you could change out the fabric to match your outfit? Oh...did everyone have a swatch watch?

OMG - forgot about the Swatch's.....I had MULTIPLE up both arms!!! Between the multiple colored socks and Swatches ~ what a walking fashion disaster I was!!!!!!!!
