Inside or ocean view? What to do?

I don’t care for the split baths, as neither has everything you need in one place. Pee in one, then move to the other bathroom to shower. It’s a PITA to me!
The four steps it takes to walk out of one bathroom into the other is a burden, it's true. Makes all of that extra bathroom storage space and the ability to go to the bathroom while someone else is showering totally not worth it. :rolleyes2

Just out of curiosity, are the inside cabins on DCL in such high demand that they command a premium similar to an oceanview cabin? I remember pricing out inside vs. oceanview vs verandah cabins when I booked my cruise and noticed the price difference between the inside & oceanview wasn't that much either.

The insides are on a higher deck and the most of the OV rooms are on deck 2. Higher decks generally cost more therefore less difference in price. It also depends on the ship. There's a bigger difference in price on the classics then on the newer ships.

The Dream class ships have the magical porthole, which really helps when you book an inside stateroom. I imagine that's one reason why there is less cost difference between inside & oceanview prices on the Dream class ships than there is on the classic ships.

Also, the Dream class ships have Disney programming on-demand on the stateroom TVs, while the classics don't. (The Magic might have just gotten this during dry dock last week, though.)

Having on-demand programming in the stateroom and the magical porthole combine to make the inside staterooms on the Dream class ships very pleasant places to hang out. More so than the inside staterooms on the classics, which feel more like the typical "I'm just here to shower and sleep" inside stateroom.

Exactly! It's not worth the extra expense of a higher category cabin...to me!

I think you missed Shanti’s sarcasm. Either way, that’s why there are different categories of cabins. Everyone is different.

Now you folks have me worried with all the talk about vibrations. We are booked for the 11 day southern carib. in aft (7th floor).

People have mixed reviews with the Fantasy post dry dock. We were on the two cruises post dry dock. We didn't notice vibrations while dining in animators. However, the night something broke, we certainly noticed it. I felt that there were still some vibrations after the repairs were made, but I honestly can't recall the fantasy cruises before where vibrations were an issue. We sailed forward for those cruises, so can't talk to how it was in the staterooms back there.

I mean there is always vibration in the back anyway, I mean its where the propellers are. We have sailed aft on the Dream and Magic and no complaints there.

We recently returned from Disney cruise #6. First one inside and we loved it!! Love the magic port hole and may always book inside now.
There are just 2 of us.
We were on deck 8 mid.....but we have been on lower floors and aft and all have been fine

We are currently booked in a 10A, room 6671 (aft) on the Fantasy for next January. We could change staterooms to a 9B, room 2010 (mid) for $42.

I just don’t know what to do! I think we would like being on deck 6, since it’s not a long walk up or down to food and entertainment. Neither of us has been on the Fantasy (I have taken 5 cruises, but only on the classic ships, DH has never cruised), so the magic porthole might be fun.

But, it’s only $42 total to have a real porthole for the week! Room 2010 is also not a connecting room, while 6671 is.

Any suggestions on which is the “best” room? What would you do?
JUST remember on deck 2 you may have noise issues from the restaurants and common areas above you on deck 3. If you are light sleepers I would avoid deck 2.

We've been on deck 2 on the Wonder and never had noise issues.
