hi all,
yes, i watched it,both parts.i had forgotten alot about the first day. maybe my brains way of blocking the bad out.well this brought back alot of forgotten memory's,and well feelings.but i think i was long over due for a good cry.well i won't even begin to tell anyone about the bad that day.it's my thing i don't want everyone feeling the same as me(sad). here's what i'll do tell you the good on that day.the one thing i can vividly remember so well well there's a lot of them.here are a couple.
It was around 8:30pm on the 11th.and i was at ground zero from 9 am like everyone else that day.i was thinking to myself i need to rest and take a break i had not had anything to eat or drink in about 12 hrs now.and low and behold this girl about 17 showed up with some friends she and her friends were employees from outback steak house.she had hundreds of baggies with her all had a cheese burger fries and a bottle of water in each bag.it was the best meal i had ever had(and it was cold and soggy).
Then about midnight we needed supply's.i got the task of finding the FDNY tac truck that was parked hours before on the west side hwy and bringing to the chelsa piers for supplys for field support.i was alone and walking toward the west side hwy,i had been at west and vessy(ground zero) the whole day. i was exhausted to say the least i thought i was gonna collapse myself.i came up to the hwy and there it was and no not the truck,it was hundreds of people clapping, cheering and screaming thank you at me.they had signs that read thank you nypd, ems, fdny, papd, rescue workers, and american flags,WOW you have no idea what this meant to us and once again i was given the enegry to do what i was there to do.thank you!
I just want to say thank you to all of you!alot of times i get thank you pm's here.thanking me for my services at ground zero. well even if all you did was closed your eyes and said a pray for us.trust me it helped. well you have no idea how all of you kept us going down there.if it wasn't for all you people i don't think we could have handled it.it really meant alot to us at that time and it was just what we needed to get us along. so from me and the entire FDNY and all the other rescue workers to you,THANK YOU ALL!!! and a special thank you to all those who did'nt have to be there and just came and helped us anyway, red cross, salavation army and all others. thank you again! i hope everyone has a great day!
once again thank you all so much!
