Insert Catchy Title Here - An August PTR

Love the idea of having a Disney Day -- I need one of those. I was so bummed, we switched satellite providers so I lost all my Disney shows (Travel Channel shows, Full House WDW 2-part episode, etc...). I was so bummed.

I don't blame you for considering a half day at DHS. My younger nephews didn't have much to do and we wound up taking them to MK for the rest of the day.

Holy cow ya’ll it’s been a while! Kyle went to Vegas last week for work (they reward their top managers by sending them to Vegas & keep them in meetings all day), & Mom & Dad have been in to help me take care of Conner while I’m in class. I had a pharmacology test last week, & didn’t feel prepared at all, but pulled a 90! That’s a B, but if I get 4 points, then I’ll have an A. (He usually gives us a few points due to him keying in the answers wrong.)

So I told you all that Mom has an awesome sewing machine. Well, we went to Wal-Mart & got some inexpensive tanks. Mom has these characters to embroider on them, or she has some full-bodied ones. I’ll let her decide.

We went to the Disney Store yesterday, and Dad got Conner a few bath toys. Well, I’m guessing they are bath toys. If they aren’t, they are now! I’ll get a pic of those uploaded later.

Also, on the Disney front, I found out that Mom & Dad won't be arriving until Saturday, so that will help me in planning our trip.

On Easter, we went to a local attraction called Brookgreen Gardens. Here are some shots from there:

I think this outfit is so cute, but he looks like a golfer!

Yay...you updated! Those pictures are great. I especially love Conner's outfit -- too cute!! You just need to get him a set of kiddy golf clubs and who knows...you could have the next Tiger Woods right there. :lmao:

We were there that Saturday. How funny. I love that place! Little C is so adorable! I love his golfer outfit. Especially the hat. So cute! Your Brookegreen pics are awesome!

That's awesome....the embroidery. She can make some cute stuff with that. Did you know we're getting another Disney outlet!? Tanger 501 is getting it's own. I'm glad because it's a lot closer!

:hyper: We are?!? YAY! I got really excited about our trip when we went to the store at Broadway the other day!

I know! I'm a bad TR mom! If my PTR was a cat, then its litter box would be full, and it'd be starving...

So I gotta show you all what we've been working on. Mom & Dad have been here for 2 weeks (Kyle was in Vegas) & they were working on building shelves in my Carolina room. Please excuse the extremely messy state that the room is in. We're having to shift everything over in order to work on the shelves.

These are in NO WAY near completion, we still have holes to fill, gotta pain the room, and paint the shelves.

Oh, and here are Conner's new bath toys

Oooooooh your Easter pictures are so beautiful. Everything is so green and flowery! I can't wait until everything turns green up here. Connor is so darn handsome! I love his little cap, it is ADORABLE!:goodvibes

I have said this before, and I am going to say it again... your baby boy is deliciouso!!! Like the room, and bath toys!

Thanks! :cutie: The sales clerk at the Gap said "Why don't you try this hat on?" Well, when she put it on him, he lit up like a Christmas tree. Big cheesy grin and all, so of course it had to go home with us. He's such a ham! We were at dinner last night, and he was pretty tired, as we got there late, and was still flirting with the people at the other tables. He's the most outgoing baby I've met. Completely different than his mom!

I can't wait to show an "After" photo!
 Let's meet up at WDW & trade babies for a day! I've always wanted a boy with dark hair/eyes/skin (ya know, the opposite of me!). I think it started with a woman I worked with. Her family is Italian, and her sister marred an Irish man. Their 1st baby had all of the Italian features. I instantly fell in love with this kid, he was sooooo beautiful! (The daughter was a perfect mix of her parents, green eyes, dark auburn hair, and pale skin; the baby boy took all of the Irish genes - strawberry blonde hair, pale skin and blue eyes - it was so cute to see how the genes displayed in all of the kids.)

Well guys, my spring semester is winding down! This is my last week of lecture, and next week I have finals! I can't believe it's here! After that we get 10 days off before the summer session starts. It'll be a CRAZY semester. I'm taking mental health Nursing & Chronic Health Problems. I hear MHN is easier, but that CHP is *brutal* - everyone fails the 1st test. I can't do that! I got an 86 on one of my med-surg tests & just about had a breakdown. Jeez!

You can send them to mine and they can still stay with you! :rotfl2: I need a bunch of shelves built in my storage shed outside. Everything looks good.

And I want some bath toys like that too. Who says a thirtysomething year old can't have a good time squishing water out of Mickey!? Huh? I can! So yeah...if you fo to the Tanger website it says Disney Outlet coming soon! Works for me. The other one is to far away. It takes me 20 minutes or more to get there! The one at Broadway never has good sales anymore. The Outlet seems to always have the 40% off. Have you noticed that? So bring on the outlets!

Heck yes! Have you noticed the Disney Store here advertises a big sale, but you can never find it when you're in the store? Ugh.

YIKES! I can't imagine having anyone in our family stay with us that long. :scared: Although, if you met my family you would completely understand! If I had to chose, I'd pick my MIL over my mom. Good thing my mom doesn't come on DIS. She might be offended by that. :rotfl:

LOL, yeah, probably! My parents rarely stay a full week, but my in-laws are always here for over a week. When DS was born, they stayed a month! :scared1: I was *beyond* ready for them to go home!

Saturday I did some prep work for WDW - the March of Dimes walk. It was a 3 mile walk (though I think I only walked 2 miles), 80 degrees with 65% humidity. The breeze made it tolerable.

I learned that I do ok walking in the heat, but my feet get HOT in sneakers. So those are out for WDW. I also got a blister on one of my toes, so that particular pair of sneakers is out. This toe always gets a blister when I walk a lot in sneakers, so I’m not entirely surprised anyway.

I got 2 new pairs of Tommy Hilfiger flip flops, which I love, because they mold to your feet. I think they’ll be ok for half-day walking.

I also decided on this pair of Crocs, but still need to purchase them, as none of the stores I’ve visited had them in a color I like or in a size that fits (just one or the other). They feel the most secure on my feet & are the only pair of Crocs that fits my arch properly.
CROCSpatra.jpg

I also found that Conner’s SPF 50 sunscreen works! He didn’t even turn pink. However, he gets hot in the stroller & I’m thinking he’ll need at least 1 stroller fan, maybe 2, to stay comfy. Now the task is trying to find one! I found a few online, but I’d rather get one in a local store, in case I’m not thrilled with it. Makes returning something so much easier.
I found this one:
Stroller Fan #1

Found this one too, but it doesn’t have a cover on the fan blades, however, the blades are made out of foam.

Also, I learned today that there’s a Finding Nemo/Tusker House lunch package. I’m considering that, since I really want to see the show, but need to do more research on it first. ADR booking is coming up fast!

My MIL *really* wants to do the luau at the Poly. Reading Allears, it’s good; reading the reviews here on the DIS, I get a resounding “meh”. So, if she pays for Kyle & I to go, I will; if she doesn’t then we won’t go. Mom & Dad have no desire to spend $50-$60 on that. Can’t say I blame them.

Oh! I found something AWESOME today! Socks for $1 for Conner at Target! I never go to Target (long story, basically they ticked me off while I was pregnant, so I got really mad!) so I was really happy to see the large selection of Disney stuff that was cheap.
mickeysocks.jpg

Ok, I gotta rant here for a second. I’m so sick of seeing Tinkerbell & the Princesses! Dang! What about plain ‘ol Mickey, Donald, & Goofy?! I mean, Pooh is ok, but I prefer Mickey for myself. End rant.

Well, August hours come out on Friday, so I can really get to plan then! I’m not going to bombard my MIL with plans right now. She just found out that Kyle’s grandmother (his dad’s mom) who is 90-ish, just fell & laid there for a few hours the other day. She fell because she hadn’t eaten in 3 days. Mind you, there’s a TON of family in the same town. Mamaw’s daughter in law is a nurse, & has been accompanying her to her doctors’ visits. Apparently Mamaw was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 3 years ago. She says she told people, but I know that if my MIL knew that, she wouldn’t have let Mamaw live alone. SO they’re up in DH’s home own dealing with that mess. I’m still trying to get the whole story sorted out, since DH is telling me what his ump-teen-thousand family members have told him. (Prayers for the family would be great!)

That's it for now! Finals are next Monday & Tuesday, and I resumed my old job for the next two weeks to train a new girl in the office! Super busy, but I'll keep ya updated!

Hey all. It's me. "Catchy". Ya know, the pre-trip report.

See, Beka's been neglecting me.

Look up there. It's been a while since she's posted anything related to planning for this trip.

I mean, 2 pair of socks? Come on.

I need your help. I'm all thin and wispy, and we all know that's a bad state for a TR or a PTR to be in.

I know Beka's been waiting for August hours to come out, but sheesh! Enough is enough! She even uses work (yeah, apparently she started working part time until her break is over) and school as an excuse.

I'm officially starting the "Feed the PTR" campaign. I need your help. Let's start with you posting your favorite memory at any of the parks.

Thank you, from the bottom of my, uh... well, if I had a heart, it'd be from the bottom of that.

:rotfl2: You're too funny! I just caught up with your PTR :thumbsup2 Oh and grats on all the weight loss! Sorry I didn't bother to read anyone else's posts :worried: Just don't have the time! I'm waiting for August hours, too! What is taking so long :sad2: Kinda hard to do any planning with out them huh? Just started my PTR

I have so many good Disney memories I don't even know where to start! My favorite from my last trip though was watching the Little Mermaid show with my nephew on my lap and watching his huge grin as he tried to pop the bubbles! I got teary eyed realizing 'Hey I used to do that!'
