Insentives to book with a TA

Well I have a question for all you TA's out there?

What incentive does a person get to book with you for a cruise?

Since DCL has pretty much fixed prices and a person with internet access can check prices constantly for any discount.

I know DU offers a cash rebate and AAA offers free soda mugs, what else is there. I have booked two cruises through a TA one Princess and the other a DCL. On the Princess I actually told my TA about a discount offered on the internet and of course got it.

I did get a nice floral arrangement also on the Princess cruise but nothing on the DCL

Now I booked a Western cruise on DCL for 2004 while on board and told a mutual friend and the TA found out and now wants me to transfer the cruise booking to them.

I booked my own airline tickets and had done all the research about both cruises myself through the WEB.

I really like that I can check my reservation on line through the DCL site now that the cruise is in my name.

Any thoughts or insights????

I'm not a TA,but I know the incentive my TA offers (she only books cruise packages) is a much cheaper price. She will beat any price. To me saving $500 is better than a bouquet of flowers. KWIM? (Plus she checks often for the cruiseline rates to see what has decreased, etc. and changes it automatically.) Customer service is a good incentive, lol.

You are correct in that Dreams does offer a rebate based on the total amount of your cruise. In addition to that, we continue to watch for better deals and you will have the expertise of agents who have done numerous Disney cruises (I have done 10 myself).

We don't "match" prices because that cuts into our agents' commissions and they work too hard to do that to them. But with the rebate, we pay you to cruise!

Before you leave, we will also send you our "Tips from the Experts" that is continually updated. Since I returned from the Western Caribbean cruise, I added some new tips based on that experience.

We love to cruise and we love what we do, so hopefully that shows in the service that we offer to our clients.
