Has anyone done this workout? I have a friend who swears by it, and she's loaning it to me (I'll get it next weekend) and have it for a while, as she's pregnant and it'll sit on her shelf for the next few months anyway.

I've read a little about it and all that I've read has just intimidated me. I've done 30DS, and am an on-again-off-again runner. I'll start back to that in the fall when it cools off a bit, but I'd like something to do indoors during the hot months. Right now, I'm just bigger and jiggly-er than I want to be, and I want to get in shape for what's sure to be a photo-filled fall. (BFF's wife having baby, I'm going to be Godmother - don't want jiggly arm pics!) We also have a WDW trip coming up, and want to be in shape for those photos too. I'm just sick of shying away from the camera, or having to adjust and retake photos so I'm not sporting a double chin, or a fleshy arm. I've just had enough of being "fluffy."

Just looking for opinions/experiences. I know p90x is over my head, but have heard that this is more managable and that I'll probably see (SOME) results within 30 days. Wondering how true that is.

TIA!

I've done this (well, some of it). I adore Shaun T, but just don't love this workout. It's not that it's hard (though it is), it's just--boring. There's no good music, and you're basically just doing lots of insane exercises with very few scheduled breaks. You will burn a TON of calories doing it and definitely lose some flab if you eat well, though.

Honestly, I much, MUCH prefer either Turbo Fire or Combat for the beach body workouts. I've been doing combat and body combat for a while and I'm just not sick of it--I love them, the trainers are ridiculously inspirational, the music is usually awesome, and you feel amazing and strong doing the workouts. Just my two cents, but I would do a combat workout every day of the week over insanity.

I am a huge Beachbody person. I love everyone of their products I have tried. Before I answer your question on Insanity I am just wondering why you feel P90X is over your head?

Insanity is difficult. There is no question. It can get boring doing the same workouts over and over but then you switch to month 2 and the workouts change.

If I am being honest, I say chosing the right product depends on what your goals are. If you are trying to tighten up, then P90X is the best overall program from Beachbody in my opinion. It shouldn't be over anyone's head because Tony teaches you how to modify to fit your ability and you get stronger over time. Also, if you are a runner then P90X will help there too because of cross-training and core strength.

Shawn T talks about the core a lot in the videos but if you are trying to keep up with the videos there is no way the majority of people can keep proper form and focus on the core as he says.

I have never done TurboFire or Chalene Extreme but those might be better options. Like I said, it all depends on what you are looking to do. One important thing to remember is, any of the Beachbody programs CAN BE DONE. They might seem intimidating but if you just push play everyday you are supposed to and do your best you will be surprised at how the body will adjust. Just be prepared to be sore. Soreness=progress
