Has anyone done this? And if so, what did you think...is it worth $176?

TIA,

Hi Lisa,

I can report on this treatment as I had it done this past January. First of all, you can't be shy. The treatment is done basically au natural with nothing more on you than a pair of paper panties. If you can get past that with a level of comfort, the treatment itself was wonderfully relaxing. It starts with the application of the mud mixture. It goes on very warm and then you're wrapped up tight like a baked potato. While your body is absorbing the mixture, you get a nice foot massage. There is a shower located in the room and you get some time to wash it all off before being slathered and wrapped again. This time around you get a scalp massage. Finally, it's back to the shower for a final cleansing followed by a wonderful back massage. It's supposed to be similar to the Ion Super Detox, only done with natural products and with the massages.

I also had the pleasure of having the pro-collagen facial treatment. This also included hand, arm, face and scalp massage. I was probably most relaxed after the facial, but I'm also partial to those anyway.

The wrap is a favorite of both my husband and I. It is the best! Sometimes they have you wear paper panties, and sometimes they just have you wrap yourself while the seaweed is being applied and then be wrapped au natural. There are a couple of different kinds of seaweed (one for muscle aches and one for cellulite...both are very nice). I feel so detoxified when it's all over with. The only bad part is to have to be taken out of your warm, baked-potato wrappings to jump into the shower...it's cold till you hit that hot water!

Had this on my last cruise. While I don't know if it was worth $176, it was worth the $67 more than the well-being massage, if that makes sense. I loved it and felt wonderful afterwards. I was going to do it again this cruise, but figured I'd try the hot stones. Have fun!

The one downside that I didn't mention, because I wasn't sure if it was just me, but the day after the treatment, I was in the bathroom constantly. For those in the know, it was for #1 and not #2  . I don't know if it was how my body was handling the detox or maybe I just went overboard on my water intake, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

That can happen with massages too. I think you're right...it's the detox process. Supposedly that's why you should drink extra water after a massage or similar treatment.

I enjoyed this massage a great deal. I am a very shy individual and I was very embarass about the paper underwear but the individual who did the treatment made me feel very comfortable. I would more than willing to do this treatment again. :cheer2:

I did this both times on our Wonder Sailings. :goodvibes I was almost weak afterwards. The best part is I went to get DD from the club and Cinderella was there reading a story and of course she did not want to leave.......SOOOO I went up to Quiet Cove pool and had a Pina Coloda and kicked back till my beeper went off!! :goodvibes :cloud9: :cloud9:

We will be on the Magic in October and I am wanting to try the Ginger and Lime salt glow/massage. :cool1:

Yeah. I did it in 2001. I felt like a green slimey potato once I was all wrapped up, and couldn't tell any difference when it was over.

Then again, I may just be strange. :)

The salt glow gives you a very similar feeling to the scrub products that you can purchase at Bath and Body Works. If you like it, I recommend buying some of their scrubs once you get home so you can do your own spa treatments after the cruise. The B&BW version is less expensive than what you can buy on the ship and leaves my skin as soft as a baby's bottom.

Still nice being pampered on the ship though. ;)
