There is going to be a Scrapbook Expo here in November and I'm trying to decide if I should go. I've never been to one so I don't know what to expect. I've done some research and I understand that there is some sort of exhibit floor, several workshops and a couple of evening crops.

I'm looking for input on your past attendance at these types of events. What did you like best? Was the exhibit floor interesting? Did you go to any of the workshops and did you like them? Did you attend the crops and did you like them? What would you avoid? What do you think is an absolute do not miss?

TIA for your input. I have already tentatively committed to another event that weekend and I'm trying to decide if I want to cancel it to go the Expo. I've heard a lot about them and I'm curious but I need more info before making a decision.

Thanks everyone!!!

I did CKC weekend before last and I cannot wait for it to come back next year.

The vendor floor was so great, I am now addicted to papers and techniques I had never used before.

I took two classes and walked away with more knowledge then when I started, which IMHO is always good.

I like Scrapbook Expo. I'm actually going to the one here on Friday. I don't like classes, so I just go to shop.

I am so jealous! I was up at Archivers in Buford on Monday and the salesperson asked me if I was going to the Expo. I don't know how I didn't know about it in advance (I guess I just don't pay attention to the ads in the magazines), and really wish I could go! Maybe next year!

You don't have to sign up in advance. They sell ticket to class on the day of(if there is space), and the shopping you can pay for when you get there. I was at the Archiver's in Buford on Saturday.

I know I can't go on Friday, but I might try on Saturday. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

I just checked out the website, and now I really want to go to the Expo. I'm supposed to go into Atlanta with my youngest daughter Friday morning and now I am wondering if I can talk her into heading up to the Expo afterward.

I am heading there on Saturday. It is a lot of fun. The exhibit floor has make n takes and lots of demos. I have gone for the past 3 years. This year I am going child free. Can't wait til Saturday!!

I'll be there at 10am tomorrow with BF. He'll be buying all the slide mounts and I'll be going won't this look cute on a Disney page.

The Expo in San Jose is what I believe you are speaking of. It is good and worth the shopping and experience. The class are good for new scrappers and even intermediate scrappers. It is alot cheaper that CKU expos. They are the best, but you really need to make it a whole 3 day event.

I think the expos are good in the instance that I am not willing to leave my children with DH for 3 days without me being there to make sure the house doesn't get burned down. LOL

I am looking at going to the one in San Jose this November. I will most likely drive from here early morning on Saturday and drive back that night. It all depends on DH and if he wants to be dropped off at Mom's in San Francisco.

Yippee! My daughter and I have decided to go to the Expo after the Apple store at Lenox and the Container Store...hopefully we won't be in Atlanta for too long, because I am very anxious to get to the Expo! :yay:

I think SB Expos are great. There are so many different mfrs and stores under one roof that you are sure to find some fun stuff and also some good deals. Some of the booths will do make-n-takes, some free some not. You kind of have to check these out because they vary in cuteness and bang-for-your buck, if you kwim. I haven't taken a workshop in the past, but I've registered for two at my upcoming Expo (San Diego) because last couple of expos I saw some of the finished projects and looks like fun. Plus seems like a way for me to keep from spending too much money on the Expo floor.

Just my 5 cents!
