 We are all excitted to go back to Disney - we will at OKW 7/1 - 7/6
any words or wisdom for the week ?

Stay out of the parks on the 4th, especially the evening. Unless you want to deal with nuts-level crowds. It's the second most crowded day of the year, behind Christmas. Have fun, though. We went last year around the same time. It was great.

We went on the 4th, and MK was "Closed due to Capacity". They still let their resort guests in though. This should be your first clue to stay away. :)

However, I will say that fireworks over the castle on the 4th were incredible. It was worth doing once. Once.

Like my wedding, it was the greatest experience that I never what to repeat. lol

4th of July is a madhouse, so be prepared and get to the parks early if you are really set on doing Disney during that time because many close as soon as they are full and then you are out of luck. We went once over the 4th and it seemed that we encountered more people in the parks at that time of year than we did any other. If you know what to expect ahead of time and are prepared, then I guess it is okay-but we were totally blindsided by the crowds and were pretty miserable.

Last year they did the July 4th fireworks on both the 3rd and 4th. I would find out if they are doing it again and aim for the 3rd. Stay away from the parks on the 4th. We will be at the campground all summer and it usually has all kinds of activities for the kids for 4th of July. They are so tired by nightfall, they don't want to go to the park.:thumbsup2

they are doing the 4th fireworks on the 3rd as a dree rehersal
we check in the 2nd at teh gf and plan on watching the MK fireworks on 3rd
going to epcot in the am of the 4th and then going back to the gf or maybe over to MGM
MGM is open late that night and ug and other sources say its the slowest park by far

:dance3: I'm getting exited crowds or not - I know it will be fun - its Disney!!
I was thinking of the water parks this year as well - - I'm sure that they are crowded too - but anythink like MK or closing due to capacity?:confused3

Last year we were there and checked out of our hotel on the 4th. We didn't find the crowds to be too bad for the days leading up, though we did purposely avoid MK on the 3rd knowing the fireworks might bring more people.

It was HOT! Be sure to stay hydrated! We would definitely go at that time again, though. :)

Last 3 years have been there during 4th MK closes for cap around noon, but rest of parks are ok spent 4th last year at Epcot it was nice.

I made ressie's for the kids and me at MGM on the 4th, thinking it would be alot less crowded. Anyone know how the fireworks are? I'm sure it's not MK, but they are still spectacular, right?
thanks,
