I read that it will close after March 31. Some are reporting permanent closure, other sites have a 3 week closure.

Any idea/speculation/desire as to what is in the works for this space?

I'm bummed because we didn't manage to get this in during our last trip in Feb. My boys (9 and 4) aren't big into characters, but I know they would have enjoyed the Ironman and Thor.

... Whaaaat? Nooooo :( I wanted to see Thor! I wonder if its a renovation for the new Avengers movie though... We are going towards the end of April, but I think still within 3 weeks of that date. :(

It sounds like it's permanent. From what I've read it sounds like they are going to re theme it into a Star Wars or Marvel attraction.

I read somewhere, (but I don't remember where exactly) that the first floor is being turned into a 60th anniversary museum of sorts. There was another thread on here with a lot of speculation about where the Avengers might end up. One thing that was mentioned a couple of times was that they could move over to the Starcade area.

I emailed Disneyland saying that I hoped the Avengers would have a new location for meet and greets after Innoventions closed- in case they are keeping tally of who wants to still meet them. I was called yesterday by a cast member who told me NOT to quote her on this (which of course I am doing but let me emphasize her "it's NOT for sure" warning) but the tentative plan is to have the Avengers meet and greet moved to where the Big Hero 6 meet and greet was outside of Star Arcade. So if it's really important to you, I would email Disneyland guest services so we can get the "it's maybe planned" to "they will be there" to let them know there will continue to be a demand for Marvel characters at Disneyland!

Thanks for checking into this! With the new movie coming out I can't imagine that they would get rid of the Avengers! Though I did want to meet Baymax... but Avengers is more important :)

I sure hope so. My daughter and I just decided we're doing a trip next month, and meeting the superheroes was near the top of her list of things to do. We'll both be bummed if they're not around.

Rumor is that it is reopening as some type of history "museum" for the 60th.

Marvel is moving in to the old Starcade.
