I used to live in CA, visited in 2000, that was my last In n Out burger. Anyone remember the bumper stickers? and what some people used to do to them? :rotfl:
It's been too long! Time for another!! :rotfl:

We went back to CA this summer to visit DH's parents who live there still. We had one then. Well, okay so we had more than one in the two weeks we were there. :rolleyes1

I am trying to picture the bumper stickers. For some reason I can't. And I'm not sure I remember what people used to do to them! Do I wanna know??? :rotfl2:

I do remember we had an antenna topper when we first moved here and it "disappeared".

They have a shopping page on their website and I just saw they have a Double Double Christmas tree ornament! That's funny. I should get it as a gag gift for my DH.
"Look hon, I got you a Double Double!!" :teeth:

Thanks, Suzanne,
I just went to their website where they show exact locations. Too bad I have to wait so many months. (And where on LI? I'm on the LIE almost weekly!) Oh, and I also love your name!
Suzanne

All American is on Merrick Road in Massapequa, at the corner of Hicksville Road. Not all that close to the LIE, but worth a detour if you want a good burger.

It is a mom and pop that's been around since the 50's and they've got the greatest burgers. DH is a Massapequa boy, and while we were eating the In and Out Burgers, we were both saying how much they reminded us of AA's! Yummy.

(though my favorite diner made a darn good one, too. Marybill in Merrick)

OT, at least up there you probably don't get called Susan all too often.

Suzanne

:sad1:I so miss living in So. Cal.

We were just there in June, but I would go back for a double double in an instant.

MMMMM Double Double. If I lose more weight by this weekend, I might splurge and have one with my extra points.

OMG Yes, I love In and Out! DH first had this while he was on assignment in LA. We get In and Out every time we're on the west coast now! (We've been to Los Angeles twice and Las Vegas once).

Too bad they don't have them here on the east coast. I read that part of the reason they taste so good is because they use all fresh ingredients. None of the restaurants have freezers or microwaves.

I'm craving a double double now!

OMG I've passed this place at least 200 times and never gone inside. Now I'm going to have to try it!

Those are good burgers, Walter.

Holy crappola...I freaked the first time I had In N Out. It was so good! The first time I went I was with my ginormous family, so I secured the tables while my husband stood in line and ordered for me (this is our plan of attack while visiting WDW too!). So he brings me my food and it was so good! I seriously wanted seconds.

So, it's about a year and half later, I just got a craving for In N Out. So I go through the drive not realizing there are only like three things on the menu. I order the cheeseburger meal and the girl at the drivethru window asks, "Will you be eating this in your car?"

I immediately get defensive and think "She knows my secret shame!"

So I defensively ask, "Why?"

She politely answers, "Because we'll package it so that it's easier to eat in the car."

I swear, I heard angels singing. Best drive through experience in my life! Now i"m craving one!

You aren't playing fair. I live up in Washington State and I too crave these. My DW was down in SoCal a few weeks ago and was able to indulge in one.

It isn't quite the same, but Carl's Jr finally made it's way to Puget Sound. They opened one in Tacoma (about 15 minutes away) and we went last Friday. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc  The drive thru was around the building.

How can I live 30 minutes in the other direction and not know that? Is it in the mall area? I'm going to have to look this up. And hey there alanapapa - howdy from another puget sounder! :)

It definitely sounds like a good detour off the LIE - I can't wait to try it. Thanks for the tip. And, OT, I don't get called Susan much in NY, but when I was growing up in NC I did, that and Susie!

Hi Christine,
No it is not by the Mall, it is on Pearl by 6th (or is it on 6th by Pearl?). If you get off the 16 at Pearl, like you were going to Pt Defience, but instead of turning at the first intersection, keep going straight. It is about a block and a half on the right.

This is one of the other reasons everybody flocks to In N Out. You actually can eat a burger, in your car, without getting food all over the place and without half the cheese staying on the wrapper.

And yes, the angels were singing.

And yes, they will package it up easier for you. Nice when you have kids with you too.
They just think of every thing. :thumbsup2

I am embarrassed. I have lived in Massapequa for 38 years, and I have never eaten at All American. (I don't live that close to it, but I've driven past it on many occasions.) I think I'll have to fix that soon!

I do enjoy them but I guess I'm just not obsessed with them. I think it's because I live on the west coast and close to one. I actually haven't been to one in a long time. Weird!

When we lived in Burbank we had one about 5 minutes away!! We only went once in awhile, it wasn't a daily thing. But just knowing it was an option was nice. Now it would take a 4.5 hour plane ride to get one. :sad2:

I hate living in Connecticut at times like these. Now I want a good burger!!!
