It may be old news, but I just noticed it! :banana:

wooohooo!!!I will have to look , hope it goes up to 4.8 like the others!!!

It's about time they raised it, though it still puts them well below many of their competitors.

Yep - HSBC is 4.8%

I have some money in there but they are really far below the other online savings companies. I am seriously considering putting all my money in emigrant where my vacation money is instead. I do love ING but they are not keeping up with their competitors at all and it's kinda disappointing.

Woohoo!!! :cool1:
I'm so glad you mentioned HSBC - here in Canada their interest rate for the savings account is 3.15% (same as ING) but if you sign up for HSBC's high-interest savings account by today, they give you a $25 bonus (ING was only offering $13 bonus)!
Currently, our saving account is earning a cool .05% through our bank :crazy2:

We used to have a Vanguard Money Market account. I withdrew our funds and put them in ING over a year ago, because ING was paying more. Now the Vanguard account is yielding 4.9%, so I just reopened it.

HSBC is now 5.05%. Far above ING, even with the increase.

Is this for a regular savings account? And if so what are the "rules"?
TIA :thumbsup2

Go to hsbcdirect.com for all the details. No minimum. No fees.

I went to hsbcdirect.com and I couldn't find anywhere stating how to get the $35 signup bonus. I am highly interested. Check your PM's also :)

Sounds like that may be a Canadian offer.

Yes, as far as I can see the $25 bonus is only available in Canada with a $100 opening deposit. :)

With rate increase, is ING Direct (USA) still offering the referral sign-up bonuses?

I don't have an ING account, so this is the reason for my questions.
The last I heard is that I can get a referral to open an account with $250 and get a bonus of $25. Is this still available? I've been asking about ING for several months. I have been scared to open one, but I was about to take the plunge, since so many people here say they are pleased with ING.
So does anyone know for sure if ING (in the USA) is still making this offer? Hope so! Thanks for any replies. :)

I just looked at my account page and have confirmed that they are still doing the referral bonus plan. Minimum 250.00 deposit gets you an additional 25.00 and the person that refers you 10.00.

Could someone verify this info and fill in the blanks for all of us?

ingdirect.com = 4.35%
hsbcdirect.com = 5.05%
**emigrant
**vanguard = 4.9%

**need correct percentages and web addresses
