I have been outnumbered by my dh and 3 sons who voted against my Hoop Dee Doo choice in favor of Medieval Times. I get the basic idea of the jousting tournament and audience participation but if anyone can provide some details about the menu, the cost, and if there are discounts to it, I'd appreciate all the info I can get. Oh yeah, not going til next June so plenty of time to research online coupons or offers. I did sign up for the Orlando magicard, but it didn't seem to be listed as a participant.

Thanks, Carla

Medieval Times has a great website...and they also take a AAA discount too. We made prior ressies with them thru their website for the one in Myrtle Beach. I don't know how old your children are, but there were some scenes in the jousting that might frighten very young children. The Knights do actully fight against one another also....so be prepared for some violence, even though they are just acting...it might seem real to little ones. I had a good time, but it is pricey. I would rather spend the money on HDD at Disney since I've never been to that yet....LOL

Have fun!

My DH and I do not have children. We went to Medieval
Times and enjoyed the show. However, after the show we
toured the place. It was inexpensive to tour "the dungeon".
What I saw there upset me terribly. I know that I am a
sensitive person but this was just too much. They had the
actual instruments of torture, and full descriptions of how
they were used. It upset me so much that I felt sick for the
rest of the evening, and lost a night of sleep.
Just so you know..........

at a pretty good price which will save us about $50. Yuck Claudia, I will definitely pass on the behind the scenes tour. Definitely NOT something I want my boys to see. BTW, they are 6, 9, and 13 so I'm sure they'll like the show. I wish I could get excited about it, but I loved Hoop Dee Doo when I saw it in '97.

We just got back from Disney, and the highlight of our trip was this dinner. (Maybe because it was something new for us.) My boys (age 12 and 8) loved it. Even my daughter (age 8) liked it. Admission was high, I think $42 for adults and $26 for children. The best coupon we found was $4 off per person, but I'm sure you can find better. When you get there, you have the option of spending $5 extra per person which will guarantee you a seat in the first 3 rows, and give you a banner and program. We did that (we're suckers), but we did have good seats!

The show started at 8:00 pm, but we got there early, around 6:30. That gave us plenty of time to buy our tickets, get our seats and then look around the shops and the village. The village was really interesting. We decided to skip the torture chamber because it costs an additional $2.00 per person. After reading the posts here, I'm really glad we skipped it.

Dinner consisted of vegetable soup, garlic bread, roasted chicken, spare rib, half potato, and strudel. Drinks were choice of beer or pepsi. After a while, I asked for water (should have done that sooner) because I didn't want the kids drinking so much pepsi (caffeine) at night. You eat with your hands, no utensils. Some kids might enjoy this, but not my little neat freaks.

The show was exciting. The boys really got into the sword fighting. It looked real, although it is obviously staged. Each night, a different Knight wins the battle. The crowd cheers and really gets into it. My daughter's day was made when one of the Knights threw a flower up to her and she caught it.

Afterwards, the Knights come out and you can get pictures and autographs. My boys each bought a sword and had the Knights sign their swords. My dauthter had them sign her banner. Some people used their autograph books. It was nice to see them up close.

Sorry this post is so long. As you can see, we really enjoyed it. Let me know if you have any more questions.

If you watch the movie "The Cable Guy," there's a scene that shows a little of Medieval Times.

those were the specifics I was looking for. I think my boys will thoroughly enjoy the show. If available we will probably pay the extra $ to sit in front too.

When we were there in Dec. '99, there was also a vegetarian plate also, although you had to ask for it. Huge quantities of cheese, fruits, veggies, etc. (Could have fed all three of us!) Our super nice waiter offered it to my DS when he saw he wasn't eating his regular meal. (He was getting sick, we just didn't know it yet.) The Pepsi is regular, too, no diet, so be prepared! Really a fun show, but $$$$.
