We just got back from Disney, and the highlight of our trip was this dinner. (Maybe because it was something new for us.) My boys (age 12 and 8) loved it. Even my daughter (age 8) liked it. Admission was high, I think $42 for adults and $26 for children. The best coupon we found was $4 off per person, but I'm sure you can find better. When you get there, you have the option of spending $5 extra per person which will guarantee you a seat in the first 3 rows, and give you a banner and program. We did that (we're suckers), but we did have good seats!
The show started at 8:00 pm, but we got there early, around 6:30. That gave us plenty of time to buy our tickets, get our seats and then look around the shops and the village. The village was really interesting. We decided to skip the torture chamber because it costs an additional $2.00 per person. After reading the posts here, I'm really glad we skipped it.
Dinner consisted of vegetable soup, garlic bread, roasted chicken, spare rib, half potato, and strudel. Drinks were choice of beer or pepsi. After a while, I asked for water (should have done that sooner) because I didn't want the kids drinking so much pepsi (caffeine) at night. You eat with your hands, no utensils. Some kids might enjoy this, but not my little neat freaks.
The show was exciting. The boys really got into the sword fighting. It looked real, although it is obviously staged. Each night, a different Knight wins the battle. The crowd cheers and really gets into it. My daughter's day was made when one of the Knights threw a flower up to her and she caught it.
Afterwards, the Knights come out and you can get pictures and autographs. My boys each bought a sword and had the Knights sign their swords. My dauthter had them sign her banner. Some people used their autograph books. It was nice to see them up close.
Sorry this post is so long. As you can see, we really enjoyed it. Let me know if you have any more questions.
