Information on the the Treehouses at SSR

I spoke to my guide today about the Treehouses. She said they are 3 bedroom villas that sleep 9. A queen bed in the master, 1 queen bed in another room, and bunk beds in the third room. There are two bathrooms. She said it is around 1,000 sq ft. SSR owners get the Treehouses as home resort and the point cost for them is the same as a 2 bedroom at SSR.

Does anyone have a link to an image of the floor plan?

I think they actually open June 1, 2009. Reservations do begin on February 8 for SSR owners and will be accepted from other members two weeks later.

Anyone know if they will be at all handicapped accessible . . . any with ramps instead of steps to get into the treehouse?

It was more than a 50% rebuild so they will be compliant with all the new codes including ADA

Don't the artist renderings have ramps?

No, the renderings and floor plans show steps for access to the main deck which leads into the villa.

It looks like a king size bed in the master bedroom in this floor plan. I know I've read, though, that it is supposed to be a queen. Well, we can hope!

This article has great info. Thanks! I hope they bring back the golf carts they mention at the end of the article. My kids would love that!

Also, how do you get over to the main SSR buildings? Aren't the canals blocking any direct access? It said they would have a dock, but does that mean the only access is via the ferry? Can you not walk?

I am VERY excited about the new Treehouse Villas option, especially as a current SSR owner. I really wish we could afford to buy into Bay Lake but that's not happening anytime soon. I'm really hoping to book a Treehouse before the end of 2009!

I stayed at one of the original THV in 2001. They had ramps leading up to the villa.

Also, someone mentioned bunk beds in the new THV and, the "floorplan" from DVCNews that was provided in an earlier post shows no bunks.
