Information on the 1 day/2 park ticket

I think you can find out how late the parks are open on their web site.
I would think that it may be hard tp do both parks in one day unles there are only certain rides etc. that you want to do in each park.
July is a busy month. The FOTL would help a lot but I think you would still be pressed for time. ( depending on how much you wnat to do)

I too called US and was told you have to buy the 1 day 2 park ticket at the gate. They will sell the 2 day 2 park by phone or online but not the 1 day 2 park.

Familyof14

We always do both parks in one day, we start as soon as the parks open and then stay until about 7 p.m. We go in August.
We also do Sea World in one day and then the rest of our days are devoted to Disney.

These are prices posted at Mousesavers.com for AAA tickets:

Auto Club South offices in Florida, Georgia and western Tennessee allow AAA members from any region (except as noted) to purchase specially priced Universal tickets on a walk-in basis (no phone orders). The Orlando office is located at 4300 East Colonial Drive. Call (407) 894-3333 for hours and directions. (They have a web site, but only Auto Club South members can order online, and the prices are higher online.)

Discounted prices when buying tickets in person at Auto Club South (including tax) are:

Ticket Type Adults Kids (ages 3-9)

1 Day/1 Park Pass $50.59 $42.55
1 Day/2 Park Pass $68.16 $59.37
2-Day/2 Park Pass $94.73 $84.08
Preferred Annual Pass $175.67 $175.67

Those are great prices. Wish we lived in one of those areas. Doesn't seem fair since we live in East Tennessee.

hulabird - Makes me feel better about our plans.
I gather that I can't buy the tickets at Portofino Bay can I?

Do you have to be AAA member to buy 1day/1park ticket at gate? How about 2/2? Can they be bought w/o AAA online or by phone? Is AAA card worth $69 over 1 or 2 days? (2 da, 3 adults, room already booked)
Thanks

Hi all! I was debating about going to Unviersal with my 6 year old daughter while at Disney. From what I've heard, there are a few things in each park she would be interested. We'll be there 1st week of November. Would a 1 day/2 park pass be the best way to go? Thanks for the info!

We enjoyed using the 1 day/2 park pass.

I am not sure how much ground you would get covered with a six year old though.

FYI - One hard lesson that we learned...we stayed at the Portofino Bay Hotel. I had read that we could get the 1 day/2 park passes at the park, but we decided to ask about purchasing them at the hotel to save time waiting in a long line for the tickets. They had them alright and we paid $77 pp for the tickets. When we got to the park, we saw several kiosk for the 1 day/2 park ticket. They were all practically empty. The price? $72 pp! We could have saved $25 for our family.

Family of 14-
You must have a blast traveling together! I was hoping for 1 day with my 6 yr old- since I didn't think there was a lot that was tailored for her age group at either park- Seussland & then possibly Shrek & Nickoldeon- am I wrong? Thanks for the info!

If you are just doing kiddie rides, you should be able to cover both parks. Come to think of it, we really didn't see too many children at IOA's and not very many at USF. The place where we saw the children was Disney. Can you believe we even saw people carrying around new born infants! Babies, toddlers and children screaming and crying all over the place.:( I was glad that mine were well past that stage.
A 6 year old should be the perfect age to enjoy the parks. Just make sure to take plenty of water and stop often for breaks.

Thanks for the info- I can't wait. Now if I could only figure out how to get on of those countdown things I'd be doing really good! (PS-I want the countdown-not by DD!!):hyper:

Hi! I just wanted to let you know we did both parks in one day with a 5 year old and 7 year old in July. The youngest was too short for all the large roller coasters, but we did everything else. We stayed on site and used the FOTL which was a huge help. We saw a ton of kids there, especially at Seuss Island in IOA and Woody Woodpecker Zone and Nickelodeon Studios in US. My kids loved it-you'll have a wonderful time! We were back at the hotel by dinner and didn't feel like we ran around like crazy! Good luck.

Where can you buy a 1 day/2 park pass. I don't see it on the US webiste. Do they sell them at the gate?

Can you get the AAA discount at the gate? I have the card, but live on the west coast, and the AAA office here only offers discounts to the Universal in CA.
Thanks

I was just checking and realized that no one had answered Minnee's question which I would also be very interested in knowing the answer to. We also have a AAA card but our local office doesn't offer the 1 day/2 park pass. Can you purchase AAA discounted tickets at the US ticket booth and how much are they? Thanks.
