I am not sure if this in in the right forum so feel free to move if not.

I have very good friends going to LOS ANGELAS(is it spelt like that dont look right) in November 2005 and also Las Vegas. The time they are planning to visit LA DIsneyland will be right on Veterans day. So is it going to be very busy and best avoided, if so how many days does it remain busy for? Any info most welcomed. thanks ali.:)

Hi, DisneyAli.

I can't give you very specific information about busy-ness in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. My BF and I did go to D-land over a Veterans' Day weekend once, and I didn't think it was terribly busy. There were definitely waits for rides, but not long waits. (Have never been to Vegas, so can't speak to that.) However, Veterans' Day isn't a national holiday on the scale of Independence Day or Thanksgiving. Government workers will have V-Day off, and I'm pretty sure schools do too, but "ordinary" workers don't usually have that day off. (That being said, I know some firms in my area will give their workers the option of having either Martin Luther King Day or Veterans' Day off.) And generally it's just the one day off, then back to work.

However, since Veterans' Day is on a Thursday this year, I suspect people who ordinarily get that day off will try to stretch it into a 4-day weekend, which might create more crowds at D-land.

I hope this makes sense, even though it's probably not terribly helpful. Hope your friend has fun regardless!

Duh! Just re-read your original post and noticed the bit that says Veterans' Day 2005! At any rate, V-Day is on a Friday next year, so that fact may increase crowds a bit, but probably not any more than usual.

Very few business are closed for Veterans Day. You shouldn't notice any change in crowds.
