Is anyone one here planning an informal wedding? Does Disney offer one? It seems like it might be a great way to make the wedding seem more like a party and ease stress.
We are planning a fairly informal Escape wedding. It will be at Sunset Pointe at the Polynesian Resort and we just have a casual tropical theme. After the wedding we are going to have dinner at OHana's. You can check out my PJ if you're interested... the link is in my sig! Good luck!
My escape wedding is pretty low key as well. (I don't know what you had in mind).
We are getting married at Sea Breeze Point, I AM wearing a wedding dressing, but it's not very "poofy". My DF is wearing khaki linen pants and a white linen pants. After the wedding we are doing a lunch reception at Boardwalk Convention Center (St. James Room). I am planning on making my own centerpieces.
Our wedding is pretty informal too. We are having a 9/16/09 Escape wedding at SBP at 10am. It will just be Dfiance, me, my 3 sons and DFiance's nephew. We are having a dinner that night at WCC - our WDW favorite WDW!
The cool thing about Disney weddings is you can customize them to be as formal or as informal as you want.
Our ceremony looked pretty formal, but our reception was extremely casual - we just had brunch and first dances, no DJ, announcements, etc. It was almost like a house party.
If you click the "Wedding!" link in my signature, the first page of my trip report has an index, and you can click "Reception" to see what that was like.
The cruise is very informal and designed to be very stress free b/c you have very few decisions you can make. If you did something like that then your party could go on for a few days!
We are getting married at SBP with our brunch reception in the St. James Room. We are going pretty casual. Our wedding party is dressing pretty traditional, but I told everyone attending to wear something cool (it's a June outside wedding!) and comfortable. My mom isn't even wearing a dress! She's wearing a linen outfit. I want this to be as relaxed and stress-free as possible. I think Disney has done an excellent job allowing me to do that!
We're also having a fairly casual wedding at SBP, with DF in dark trousers and an ivory linen shirt. I have a proper wedding dress but it definitely isn't a big princess one! We're keeping the ceremony to about 15 minutes due to the August hear and humidity, and there will only be 8 guests (2 of whom ae children).
